🎬 Watch on RandyTube: Is There Really 30 mL in a 30 mL Hospira Bacteriostatic Water Vial?

A Hospira bacteriostatic water vial says 30 mL, but how much liquid is actually inside?

'You just saw me take the cap off and pull the air...never do that'. I can't quite tell what you say afterward regarding this. Leave the cap on when you pull air to push into the vials?

@hunt_ak You are less likely to suck in anything airbourne if you suck air in with the cap on.

Nice work and sorry you had to sacrifice an entire bottle of Hospira. I've heard that Lambda BAC water has consistently passed pH and benzyl alcohol testing just in case someone needs another source.

          Safety message:
Every time I saw you recap needles I held my breath. I recap needles with one hand behind my back, then snap the cap on with that hand when the needle is covered. It's safer to cut the needle using a sharps container if one is available and you're not making videos.

Except for a puncture wound you're safe with injecting BAC water, but it's a bad habit to cover/recap needles using two hands unless you've got no other choice.

I worked in the medical field. Needlestick injuries with exposure to human fluids usually meant being next in line for an infectious disease evaluation and a Hep B immune globulin shot. Fun times.

BAC water or peptide needlestick injuries aren't going to send you to Urgent Care. It's just that puncture wounds in your thumb hurt. 😬

@alwayslooking I was in an OR a while back and the surgeon pricked herself twice with used needles through her gloves... Pretty sure I have that footage in 6k somewhere πŸ˜‚

This was in rural West Africa where AIDS is rampant.

There isn't a meme or emoji strong enough to describe my feelings about a surgeon pricking themselves twice during the same surgery in a place where AIDS is rampant. Maybe a 😬 or a πŸ€” or a 😱

What led to you being in an OR in rural West Africa? That gets another πŸ€” or maybe a 😬
