Help choose our next explainer
-
What would you most like us to explain next?
Choose the one topic that would help you most in the poll. A quick vote is enough. If there’s another question you’d like us to cover, add it in the comments. You don’t need any experience reading lab reports to take part.
Voting closes November 30, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific. Choose one option; you can change your vote while the poll is open.
We’ll post the result and the finished explainer in this thread so you can come back, read it, and ask follow-up questions.

I would like to know how sure we can be that it is indeed the proper molecule, if we have the lab result with MS and HPLC data. I feel that there are a lot of nuances there, and there are ways to make these tests pass, but still have a different molecule, and isomer, same amino acids but wrong sequence, etc. HPLC relies on the reference samples and calibrations, but how good those reference samples are, how often the calibration is done, etc. An discussion with a knowledgeable lab person would be nice.
