Anyone have success getting epipens? I have no history of allergies so not sure how to get a script for one.

@justdabbling I've seen epinephrine/adrenaline ampules in grey areas (bst) on occasion. I just ordered a few tonight as a just in case.

I started very low and kept a bottle of benadryl handy.

Which after looking up more may be insufficient... Do I need an epi pen?

@seadracos I would try another anti-histamine like levocitrizine unless you want to see the hatman. ac434da7-e73f-4a30-bfe1-3bf6052bcf24-image.jpeg

Looks like Amazon will sell them, but you'll need to visit one of their doctors.
Honest I'll probably go to my Primary and ask about a prescription. I don't need cjc, I'd like the benefits that it is supposed to give, but I haven't even used it long enough confirm.
Than goodness I don't have this worry with Tirz or BPC, that I NEED.

There is a news story making the rounds that actor, Richard Hanson had a Anaphylactic response to injecting CJC + IPA and subsequently passed away.

                https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/movies/2026/10/30/richard-norton-cause-of-death-peptide-injection/92519001007/

There are no details yet that I can find indicating where the Peptides came from. They appear to have 'prescribed' by a Health Practitioner etc...

There is some indication that Richard was doubling his dose, which might have also been the problem. Some simple Ai searching did reveal that a CJC+IPA Dose could cause an Anaphylactic response.

This is not the first time I have heard about Anaphylactic reactions to a peptide injection. I have seen more than one post from a user claiming to have experienced anaphylactic shock from a peptide injection. One of them from You Tuber Vigorous Steve who had a reaction to a mega dose of Mots-C and had to be rushed to emergency. The other story was from an Instagram guy who just happened to have an epi pen handy but was also hospitalized.

For those of us with only the best interest of our research lab rats in mind, has anyone considered keeping an Epi-Pen handy..,, in a case where your test rat has a Anaphylactic reaction to a research dose of a peptide.

I know we have a couple around the house for my wifes allergies. I think I am going to become a little more acquainted on how to use it.

Just thought I would add a message from Vigorous Steve on the subject:

                Steve's Warnings to the Community

Following the incident, Steve strongly urged caution with research peptides, noting that MOTS-c and growth hormone secretagogues are known to cause severe histamine and anti-drug antibody reactions. He strongly advises against large single doses or rushing injections, emphasizing instead the necessity of consulting medical professionals and understanding the high risk of severe systemic sensitivities associated with these substances.

@TrueNorth he suffered from Asthma and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Motsc and CJC both can cause a serious histamine reactions if you have these conditions it can be much worse. Seems like we are getting half the story on this one. If you suffer from a condition like the ones he had you need to be extra careful. Certainly have an epi pen nearby. The conditions he had was the perfect storm it appears

Well, guess that's the nail in my coffin then. Not bad asthma, but i have noticed the slightest bit of increased symptoms. I'll take that as my warning sign. It was on my wish list, but I can work out other options for better sleep, and the bpc+tb4 has been doing rather well for recovery.

Thank goodness I hadn't ordered a full kit yet.

@seadracos DSIP has been pretty game changing for me when it comes to sleep.

I used to wake up wide awake around 2 AM. Since starting DSIP I sleep through the night until my alarm or maybe 30 minutes before my alarm goes off.

I know it's a very hit or miss peptide though, a lot of people don't feel a thing.

@Stevepep - this is not meant to be an anti-peptide post. The things you are mentioning may be true but the story was more about the fact that Mots and any of the GH Secretagogues (not CJC) can cause histamine reactions which for some people can lead to Anaphylactic shock.

I also shared more than one story of people who faced close calls in reactions to these peptides. I became aware of the potential reactions to Mots after starting research on my Rat. I was completely unaware that GH Secretagogues could also cause a similar reaction.

I am assuming I am not the only one who was unaware of some of these risks and the purpose is to share information for those of us who are less enlightened.

There are risks to researching with peptides. I think its important to understand as many of those risks as possible so that we can make informed decisions and keep our rats safe.

I appreciate the warning and bringing it up again. I initially thought that it would just be a risk early on or that it wouldn't suddenly jump to anaphylaxus. Unfortunately for allergies its often the case that you're good until you very suddenly are not. There can be warnings, but there could also be none, or too subtle.
The flush from CJC is a warning, its a weak histamine response. Mine became really low level after the first week, but it was still my body telling me something was not quite right. Add to the fact that my nearly nonexistent asthma was acting up even slightly... It's just out of what I consider worth the risk, especially since it's fourth or fifth on my list of health priorities.
Might still get an epi pen in case I get a bad batch of Tirz, Wolverine or Klow, but those don't generate constant histamine responses (the flush) for me and are much higher in my priority list.

I don't blame your caution whatsoever, and given your history, best to be prudent. However, I think it's worth reiterating his age and comorbitities, and the fact that he was taking twice the prescribed dosage.

To put this into context, I asked A.I. to give me a rough estimate at what % of commonly prescribed pharmaceutical drugs, when taken at double the prescribed dosage over time, would lead to serious side effects and possibly death.

"Rough guess: ~15-25% of commonly prescribed systemic drugs have a realistic path to death under sustained 2x dosing in a typical patient. Serious non-fatal harm (organ injury, arrhythmia, bleeding, severe hypoglycemia) would be maybe 35-50%"

Given, this is across a general population as well, not a cohort of individuals aged 75+ with priors (like the aforementioned individual in question), which would likely dramatically increase those percentages.

I'm not saying peptides are perfectly safe and harmless, just trying to add some context and nuance. All drugs interventions do carry some risk.

Agreed, you have to make sure what you take matches your needs, safety profile, and current conditions as they develop.
I probably I'm overreacting, but I'm rather risk adverse so my safety vs reward math looking shaky after reevaluating my current condition.

My flushing got better, but has never stopped. My asthma was nearly non-existent, but I've felt the slight beginning of symptoms after I started the protocol. These aren't necessarily concerning signs, but they are signs I need to reevaluate. Especially since I'm barely pinning 100mcg of CJC and IPA and was potentially planning on a 50% increase in the next week or two. My personal desires for better sleep and faster muscle growth don't justify this particular risk when there are alternatives.

I just have to be thankful that I'm not reacting negatively to anything else and stew in jealousy that I'm probably part of the 4-5% of people who's bodies don't like this peptide.

Most (all?) of the side effects you're currently experiencing are likely coming from the CJC-1295. I'm assuming you have a blend? You can run Ipamorelin solo and get benefits. Might be worth a try to pick up a single vial when you make your next group purchase and experiment.

I ate peanut butter daily from 2 years old until 2019, when I developed a severe allergy to peanuts. You can develop an allergy to something that you previously could consume with no issues. But, now I have a few Epi Pens, so there is that!
