Peptide Criminal Investigation (WTAF??) St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office (based in Opelousas, LA)
-
Seemingly announced on their Facebook page (WTAF again?) I don't do FB so can't see their post. If real and soon to escalate, going to be a public uprising methinks...absolute total fucking bullshit.
"The St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office (based in Opelousas, LA) recently issued a public warning about illegal peptide products (such as tirzepatide, semorelin, and tesamorelin) being obtained online and possessed/distributed without prescriptions. In one of their investigations, officers interviewed one individual (referred to as "the suspect") and seized exactly 498 vials of these peptide products.
100 of the vials were identified as FDA-approved "legend drugs" (prescription-only). The suspect had no prescriptions for them.
The remaining 398 vials are being handled through the normal court process.
The vials were sent to the Acadiana Crime Lab for full analysis, and further action may be taken by narcotics officers depending on the results." -
I read it. Seems kinda dicey. Lots of mays and could be considered. If he is selling, that is one thing, but I don’t know what crime you charge me with for possessing a bunch of vials of tirz and other stuff that isn’t FDA approved.
It reads the one peptide dealer turned in another peptide dealer for cutting into his/her business.

Here is the whole thing, @peptidepete
FROM THE DESK OF SHERIFF
BOBBY J. GUIDROZ
SUBJECT; PEPTIDE PRODUCTSWARNING! WARNING! WARNING!
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
IT HAS COME TO THE ST. LANDRY PARISH SHERIFF’S OFFICE ATTENTION THAT CERTAIN PEPTIDES SUCH AS TIRZEPATIDE, SEMORELIN, AND TESAMORELIN, AMONG OTHERS, ARE BEING OBTAINED THROUGH ONLINE SOURCES, INCLUDING INTERNATIONAL VENDORS. MANY OF THESE SUBSTANCES ARE MARKETED FOR “RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY” , AND ARE NOT APPROVED BY THE U.S. FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION (FDA) FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION. WHILE APPLICABLE STATE AND FEDERAL LAWS GOVERNING THESE SUBSTANCES MAY BE NUANCED, THERE ARE CIRCUMSTANCES IN WHICH THE POSSESSION AND/OR DISTRIBUTION OF SUCH COMPOUNDS MAY CONSTITUTE A VIOLATION OF LAW.
DUE TO THE REPORTED OVERWHELMING USE OF THE ILLEGAL PEPTIDE PRODUCTS, AND THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE ATTEMPTING TO PROFIT OFF OF AND SELL, AND DISTRIBUTE THESE PRODUCTS AS A BUSINESS IN ST. LANDRY PARISH, I FELT IT NECESSARY TO ISSUE THIS PUBLIC SERVICE WARNING AND ANNOUNCEMENT.
- WHAT ARE PEPTIDES?
PEPTIDES ARE SHORT CHAINS OF AMINO ACID THAT ACT AS ESSENTIAL SIGNALLING MOLECULES IN THE BODY, REGULATING PROCESSES LIKE HORMONE LEVELS, INFLAMMATION, AND CELLULAR REPAIR. SOME PEPTIDES OCCUR NATURALLY IN THE BODY AND HAVE PARTICULAR FUNCTIONS.
- WHAT ARE SOME KEY USAGE EXAMPLES OF PEPTIDES?
WEIGHT LOSS AND DIABETES. SKIN REJUVENATION, INCREASING MUSCLE MASS, AND REDUCING APPETITE.
- WHAT MAKES CERTAIN PEPTIDES ILLEGAL TO POSSESS?
PEPTIDES MUST BE FDA APPROVED AS A LEGEND DRUG AND MUST HAVE A DOCTOR’S PRESCRIPTION TO PURCHASE AND POSSESS.
IN RECENT CASES, THE ST. LANDRY PARISH SHERIFF’S NARCOTICS UNIT CONDUCTED INVESTIGATIONS INTO THE COMPLAINTS OF PEPTIDE PRODUCTS BEING POSSESSED, DISTRIBUTED, AND SOLD AS A BUSINESS IN AREAS OF THE PARISH.
THE ST. LANDRY PARISH SHERIFF’S NARCOTICS DETECTIVES IMMEDIATELY INITIATED INVESTIGATIONS INTO THE COMPLAINTS.
AS A RESULT IN ONE OF THE INVESTIGATIONS, ONE INDIVIDUAL WAS INTERVIEWED AND 498 VIALS OF THE PEPTIDE PRODUCTS WERE SEIZED AND SENT TO THE ACADIANA CRIME LAB FOR IDENTIFICATION AND ANALYSIS. ONE HUNDRED (100) OF THE 498 VIALS THIS INDIVIDUAL HAD IN HIS POSSESSION WERE IDENTIFIED AS FDA APPROVED LEGEND DRUGS, (WHICH MEANS A DOCTOR’S PRESCRIPTION IS NEEDED BEFORE POSSESSING THE PRODUCT) THE SUSPECT DID NOT HAVE PRESCRIPTIONS FOR THE 100 VIALS OF PRODUCT. THE REMAINING 398 VIALS WILL BE HANDLED THROUGH THE NORMAL COURT PROCESS.
UPON RECEIVING THE 100 VIALS OF THE ‘LEGEND’ DRUG ANALYSIS FROM THE CRIME LAB, AND DEPENDING ON TEST RESULTS FROM THE CRIME LAB, FURTHER ACTION MAY BE WARRANTED AND TAKEN BY NARCOTICS OFFICERS.

@commander Yeah, my bride no longer questions me when I buy crates of things bc the state we live in has made everything illegal except graft, fraud, and violence.
-
It’s getting to where I have to have syringes shipped to an Amazon drop box on the state line.
-
Thank you @researchcat ! Yeah, it sounds like someone dropped a dime on a competitor doesn't it?
Camel's nose? Or nothingburger? I don't know. I do know I see a lot of baseless fearmongering being propagated by the usual suspects (paid propaganda, like the bad old days of various viruses). I think they will not win or even get a foothold on this battle. It's one I will personally go to war on if it comes to that.
-
BTW- the all caps doesn't give them any credibility, that's for damn sure.
-
these are not scheduled substances, no crime here mate

If something requires a prescription, like say semaglutide, companies cannot sell it to people that do not have a prescription…
Everyone thinks Kennedy allowing compounding pharmacies to make those peptides is a good thing - It is not! It is one step closer to not allowing any place to sell them, no matter what the purpose is, to anyone without a prescription.
Do not underestimate what Judges, DA, Prosecutors, etc. will do. The court system is not a fair system, I see it all the time when I am in court (yes I am an attorney). When a Judge has an addenda, they will rule the way they want to and that isn’t necessarily what the law actually is. Don’t believe me, ask anyone that went through a divorce in the court system… -

@Sable-Darqness my thoughts exactly. Shipping them across state lines would be a different agency but this just seems like theyre making someones life miserable because they can.
-
All the more reason to stack it deep, I guess. Why must EVERYTHING be made worse?

Correct, The State can pretty much do as they please, ESP. Louisiana, where anything is possible! Apologies to any Coonasses here; y'all know I love ya and the food!
I've gotta start stockpiling too, but can't until Labor Day; got too much ahead of it.

@Randy Sounds like he was selling them to people at a gym along with HGH, and then word of mouth got out, and all the ladies in town started to reach out. That will raise some eyebrows, but still not a crime IMO. People actually brag about how much money they are making on Telegram and discourse, doing this exact thing. Idiots

It takes a lot more than that to offend us. I live about 20 minutes from Opelousas and they have both positive and negative reputations on the Cajun culture. Honestly, the recent report on the guy arrested for cockfighting makes us look worse. And if anyone is curious, we do wear shoes, no we don't take pirogues (flat bottom boats) everywhere, and we don't wrestle alligators. Well, at least most don't.
FYI, that peptide post was from back in April.
