Sterile Pen Vials?
-
I have noticed that none of the community vendors of pen vials state that they are sterile, even Randy. Amazon does sure, but that's suspect even more. So what does @randy himself do? Is there a protocol for sterilizing pen vials? How would I go about this?

@jamiegallien if you have an instapot you buy sterile inserts from Amazon and sterilize them. You have to remove the plunger, put them in the bag and seal it. Set it to pressure cook beef for 30 minutes then in the oven for 10 and that it. You reinstall the plunger in the bag. There is a video on YouTube. Also there is a study that shows it’s just as effective as an Autoclave. It’s on the GLP-1 forum they point to a study. I have been doing this with all my new pen vials.

How do you sterilize the plunger? Also I've read wet sterilization leaves behind endotoxins, any info on that?

@jamiegallien I get mine from pen-depot and they're sterilized

@jamiegallien you order these on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06WWQ4XVV?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title.
You remove the plunger by pushing air into the vial with a syringe. You put the vial and plunger in the bag and seal it. If you have a newer Instant Pot they go to 15psi. You pressure cook it on the beef setting for 30 minutes and let the pressure settle. Do not release it. Then put in the oven at 200 degrees for 10-15 minutes. Let it cool. When it is still in the bag, you use your fingers to put the plunger back in. That's it, a study was posted showing this is as effective as an autoclave. Actually, it is doing the same thing.

Without sterilizing them yourself, you can really just look for a vendor who’s carts were tested. There have been a few test on carts from multiple vendors to see if they were sterile. I think Max Headroom had his tested. I am not positive, but most likely Jeff (Randy) had his tested, you can check either him for sure.
Otherwise you roll the dice like everything else in the peptide world.
BUT don’t stress it unless YOU are actually testing your peptides, and that doesn’t mean relying on a Vendors COA or a 3rd party COA or anything other than YOU sending out a vial from the batch YOU received.
We all worry about these little details but then don’t send our peptides out for tests…forest for the trees -

With single vial purchases the only thing you can do is try and find a vendor that is somewhat doing it right.
Basically the resellers are doing the same thing as us, buying from grey.
So if you have a reseller that is at least sending the product they get in out for testing, that is a start.
So for single vial purchases, look for a vendor that has their own label on the vial in the test results. Not a vendor that the vial is a generic label in the test results -

I always sanitize mine and now after our discussion test all my product. It cost more but it gives me a sense of security.
