Is anyone here using Huperzine A with Tesamorelin/Ipamorelin (or other growth hormone secretagogues?)

Theoretically Huperzine A inhibits acetylcholinesterase (AChE) which is the the enzyme that breaks down acetylcholine. That leads to higher acetylcholine levels. Higher acetylcholine levels in the hypothalamus are thought to stimulate the cholinergic pathways that suppress somatostatin release. Somatostatin is the body's primary inhibitory hormone; its job is to put the brakes on natural growth hormone release.

So in theory, taking 100-200 mcg of Huperzine A taken 30 minutes before administering your growth hormone secretagogues should lead to a stronger cleaner growth hormone pulse.

Curious if anyone has experience (or more data) on that?

I've experimened with this and a few other compounds. Not just huperzine but also alpha GPC, l-citrillune, and L Dopa (more so for supoort on the GHRH side). The real issue is that you're better off just taking more Ipamorelin - it's a stronger somatostatin suppressor, you're already using it anyways, it's more effective on a bang for your buck comparison, and it's always better to just take less drugs especially orals, even ones that are generally hepatic safe I'm always trying to keep my overall hepatic load as low as possible.

However one area that it might be worth looking into is for usage off cycle - running L dopa as your GHRH and one of the other (or stacking 2+ of them) noted above as your GHRP.

Is more Ipa better? I was under the assumption 500mcg was the max does... not sure where I picked it up from.

Yeah I think so, at least up until a point. I just don't think those OTC oral add ons are going to add any value onto what you're trying to do (inhibit somatostatin). I think with 300 - 500mcg of Ipamorelin that lever is already pressed down as far as it's going to go, and adding anything on to that simply isn't going to move the needle in any positive direction worthwhile. That's the end result I was really left with trying to experiment with OTC orals as an add on.

Remember, all these orals do add on to total hepatic load, and they aren't completely without side effects themselves. I think that if Ipamorelin was some really expensive, exotic/rare peptide and/or had strong side effects at higher doses and you were trying to minimize costs/sides, it might be something worth looking into, but heck Ipa is pretty cheap nowadays and is actually comparable in price to other OTC compounds that do similar actions.

Now where I do think that perhaps they might be an interesting case use would be to use while off cycle.

This is one of many reasons why practically every thing in life should be cycled, too.
Really good advice. Thanks for the reminder...helping me cope with my off cycle (ugh, detox time.)
