GLP-1’s for kids?

This seems like a catastrophically bad idea to me, but what do I know?
TL;DR: people giving their 9 years olds Wegovy because they are obese.
(This should not be paywalled.)

I think it's a catastrophically bad idea too. Questions have to be asked:
Are the kids eating junk?
Are they sitting all day on the phone or video games?
I see where they're working out at home a couple days a week but this is not enough for kids. Unfortunately, the article IS paywalled. -
Let me see if I can get you the gift link.

I haven't gotten a chance to read it all yet and it looks like a fairly decent diet (if kids not sneaking food). Here's what I spotted right away that tells me they're not moving enough:"“Ow,” Ayden yelped, cartoons playing in the background. He is 9 years old."
Not that the standard when I was a kid should be firm nowadays, but we played outside most of the day as kids, except heat of the day. Hopscotch, jump rope, rode bikes, hiked in the woods, swam a lot in summer, climbed trees...and the list goes on.

Yeah, a big part of it is food, but when I was a kid we ate tons of garbage and sugar and we weren’t fat because we got kicked out of the house every morning. Sure, we watched TV as well, but we were outside all the time. I was also 10 when the Atari was released, so unless you were a bookworm - which i was - sitting around the house meant boredom. And even then, I ripped through books.
I lived on my bicycle.
