My rat Extropy has been using V2 pens for 3mo now and I'm about to upgrade. When she pinch, pin and pray. Extropy lets it sit in her for 10-20 seconds before pulling out slowly. She still notices a drop of peps on the pin tip. She is now using 33G x 4mm, but also it did the same with a 32G. There is a few MCGs lost in every pin. Lately she has been unscrewing the pen reservoir to not lose any more peps. Yes she did use to remove the pen tip but by the time you cap it and unscrew the mcgs add up. It a decent little drop. I didn't mind it, considering it is clear there isn't a backwash into the cartridge. Time to upgrade, "this is the way"...? Follistatin-344 and tesa are not cheap. Please advise.

@martinmarin That's just part of it. My pens do it too. There's always going to be some loss to be expected. I lose 2 units before every pin priming the pen needle to make sure I get my correct dose.

Mine do the same. Little dop before and after injection.

Has anyone done an injection and waited the 10 seconds, then when you pull the needle out, it starts spewing the pep? It's almost like something was blocking the needle from injecting while inserted into the skin. Then when removed, it all gets released. It has happened to me twice. Bad needle or bad pen? I think it was the same pen but I'm not 100 percent sure.

That has happened to me a few times, mostly with autopens. I assume it is a sticky cartridge or weak spring or something, and yeah, it’s annoying af. It has never happened to me with a manual pen.

With my current process, I rarely get any leakage before injection but sometimes a tiny drop after.

Please set a funny and sarcastic signature line. It brings me joy. Thank you for your attention in this matter.

I probably should have mentioned that this happened with an Amazon V2. It did seem to be of good quality and had confirmed it's accuracy.

You don't want to unscrew the reservoir to save that little nothing of peptide. You will end up sucking blood back into the cartridge and your whole peptide is ruined. Same thing can happen if you have too big of a bubble in the cartridge - reversion. Ask how I know.

@jamiegallien ooh ooh how do you know? I been good at primming my cartridges. But if youre still getting a drop coming out, its mostly cleared of blood vessels if any are in the syringe. I just dont want a drop big enough to run down the pin. If youre dosing mcgs it adds up.

@martinmarin I ruined whole cartridge of Reta with a bubble. I forgot to get all the air out when I used the pen. The air bubble (if it's big enough) compresses and has a spring like action when it releases, pulled blood into the cart. I noticed it the next day, red blobs floating in the cart. I now inject, wait 5 secs, keep the button held until removal, then release to keep any reversion into the cart.

You can google it, it's a common issue noted by users of RX glp pens and happen with our off brand pens as well. Just a function of how it works. Losing the drop on the needle is nothing (a single drop of liquid on the end of a GLP-1 needle typically ranges from 0.01 mL to 0.05 mL) is better than losing a whole cart. I just consider all of it the cost of CHEAP self doctoring.

@jamiegallien Agree, Im now turning the needle facing down before removing. I figure when you disconnect any pressure or vacuum will gravity release drained aways from the cartridge. Maybe a light flick it empty the needle tip, I excepted the loss of peptide. It never bothered me but I put it out. It was really an observation when some peptides are a mcgs.
