How did you get them to give you a Dexa scan?@Commander the Seca is what I have most of. I also have what seems like a never ending prescription for zepbound. I have boxes im trying to trade if anyone is looking, and I get a new box a month.

I am too. I also have something wrong with my back they found and told me about. But unfortunately the VA clinics in my state aren’t so good… -
@EXTROPIAN my hume pod is not even close to the dexa scan I get at the VA. Not even on the same playing field. Now if its just to monitor my results for my pod and my pod only its an ok tool. But most of the stuff on there they completely make-up. But if you use it consistently you can track that i suppose
@thanks_enjoi Is it one of those they sell you the pod/hardware but have to pay the software? Then later that data is being use by big pharma and insurance companies? Are we the lab rats paying to be monitored?

@EXTROPIAN No. I have one. There is no monthly fee for it. I find mine is consistent, which is important and my body fat is only slightly off from the 2 Dexa’s that I have done.

@EXTROPIAN i don't understand your comment.

@thanks_enjoi I think he is saying he has a Hume scale, which I find to be almost exactly the same as my scans. I think it depends on your body type. If you are very over weight they don’t seem to be as accurate. It will show lower body fat in those cases, from what I understand. For my wife and I it’s extremely accurate. The only reason I continue to do the scans is to get my Hospira Bac water. I will probably just go 3 times a year now.

@mrjoshua44 I'm really sorry about this. Someone close to me in their 30s had one of these. We found out when he became incontinent and they had to operate. He's back to normal now but its no joke.
@Randy Thanks! First, I'm very thankful that it is benign. But it sucks because of where it is in my neck, removing it is very risky. It is literally next to my jugular vein and since it's attached to my C4 peripheral nerve bundle removing it could lead to some right side facial paralysis and numbness in my right arm. So that's their reasoning for just wanting to "watch it". But if it gets any closer to or restricting blood flow to my jugular they'll have to take it out. Oh well.. Positive note, I have hit the 70 lb weight loss mark! Thanks again for your comment!

@mrjoshua44
Oh hell, mrjoshua, I'm sorry. I can understand why your doc is worried about anything ending in 'morelin'. I have 2 small vials of Tesa that I will never use.Not sure why the NAD+ though. If it's buffered, I'll buy it from you. Let me know.
Bless you and I hope all your treatment(s) for it are successful.
Eleanor
@Eleanor If I had some NAD, but unfortunately I do not.

@thanks_enjoi That was my conspiracy rat. Always crying wolf. Well cat.

@Stevepep I agree with that. My Hume has my body fat at 16.2% and my scan had me at 17.3%. I think that the leaner you are, the more accurate it is.
@jackiee Thats almost exactly where I am. My body fat on Hume was 16.4 and scan 17.1. My goal was 17pct 4 months ago I was at 22.4. My wife is only .1 off, but her body fat is lower. Everything on Hume is very close for us. For those were it is off, you can still track trends, so I wouldn't focus on a specific number. For instance, if your body fat is 33 percent and goes down to 30, even though the number itself may be off, follow the trend; you are doing great.

@Stevepep Is that Hume a good device? I used Garmin scales for years, it only has feet sensors. It tells me I have 28% of fat. I went to make Dexa scans twice, also got 27-28%, that's a lot of fat. I am not obese, BMI 27-28, I work out like a cursed monkey 4 times a week using TacFit program and doing good there. I have a lot of muscles and visibly not too much fat, but also I've been on various diets and fastings, using glp1 for a year, nothing helps me to lose even 10lb consistently of this baseline. I got a different scales Withings Body Scan, with a hand bar, seemingly more advanced, it shows 18% fat. But Dexa agrees with Garmin. This is confusing to me. 10% of absolute difference (35% discrepancy), can you imagine it? Or is it a bad dexa machine at DexaFit?
I looked at this Hume Pod, it looks very much like my Withings Body Scan. -

If you watch dr Ashley froise she compares it to her scan and it’s accurate. People have differing opinions like everything else. They have a money back guarantee

@Stevepep ah okay, yeah my numbers on mine are pretty consistent besides the one age category. I forget what its called. I went from 39 to 31 years old in 4 months.

@thanks_enjoi I had a similar biological age, where it was 15 years younger I will take it. Then I get my Rythm results and it was 7 years younger oh well

@Stevepep I bought Hume Pod to compare with its body fat measurement. But it is not getting easier. Now after 3 measurements it stabile shows 13% of fat. Now I have multiple DexaFit scans and a decade of Garmin and Fitbit measurements at 27%-28%, Withings Body Scan top of the line, also with handles, scales at 17%-19%, and now this Hume Pod at 13% of body fat. Sometimes more data is no better.
-
Glad i saw this. I have been unable to find a DEXA scan place that will let you purchase independently. 6they all require a prescription. I was considering the Hume, but it doesn’t seem any more accurate than the Greater Goods smart scale I have.

@spaceghost How are you doing? Home yet? I hadn’t seen a follow up after you went to the ER.
