Guys, be assured that making purified water is no easy task. Contaminates enter the system from everywhere. Components must be cleaned cyclically with 138+ degreeF caustic soda and/or 30% H2O2 - dangerous. Ions must be removed. pH must be controlled. Every component possible must be made from high purity teflon. I assure you that Hospira does not fire up their still and squirt steam and water into bottles. I know this from the semiconductor chemical industry. The chemical engineers are kept very busy making something as stupid as water.

@kenhnsy You can buy purified water and mix it with benzyl alcohol. You don't need to make it; it's pretty cheap by the gallon. It is what the testing labs use to test peptides and what Hospira mixes with Benzyl Alcohol. I have not done this, but I know people who have. They have also gotten it tested for PH, sterility, and content because they were thinking of manufacturing it.

@Stevepep You can do that with cell culture lab grade sterile water. It's not NDC so doesn't need script, dirt cheap, and has almost the same qualifications as pin grade sterile water.

To be clear, Hospira is my first choice. Genetek is my second.

@mmp I definitely use it for longer.

Just someone with a fridge full of research and a browser history that would concern my doctor.

@Stevepep Yup that's the one I shortlisted too but I don't like that it has such a wide open mouth.

One way I thought is — draw using luer lock, filter into a sealed sterile vial, add benzyl alcohol 10 units for every 10ml.

@mmp used till last drop for 100 days with the following strict rule — once a noodle is out of BAC bottle no repoking with the same one. Fresh noodle for every poke. At times after reconstituting multiple peps, I'm left with a pile of 3ml luer locks to dispose but hey luer locks are dirt cheap.

Use noodles liberally and BAC judiciously!
