Eli Lilly says it will file for approval of next-generation obesity drug in 2027 as it clears two more trials

And they are filing it as a biologic. Which means funds have been transferred to the appropriate people at FDA, the fight is over.
The RUO might see another wave of FDA love letters and payment processors drama when Reta comes to market. But I think RUO force is now too big to be contained and glad it's like that.

Next Gen GLP! Bioglutide (NA931) Adds IGF-1 For Muscle Preservation -
@Newenough It sounds like its more of a receptor agonist for IGF-1R vs HGH is upstream signaling the liver to make IGF-1 systemically. I'm not smart enough to know what the difference in outcomes would be between the two but it for sure sounds like there is an overlap of benifits between them.

I can see why Lilly is trying to get Reta classified as biologic and also keep access tight — probably won't be prescribed for general weight loss but only fatty liver and such specific ailments.
Here's my personal guess — Tirzepatide and Foundayo just came out and are catching market. They still have a long runway till patents expire and generics come. Lilly needs to make sure they get the full ROI on Zepbound and Foundayo and their own Reta doesn't kill them. So Reta biologic and very special conditions, T and F for general weight loss. By the time T and F come close to patent expiration, they will open Reta for general weight loss.
