All those companies have one thing in common. They list the product as "retatrutide' rather than the alternative name like all other companies do. Not sure if that played in part

@Goofy it does the case is based on IP it’s not an approved drug so doesn’t have those protections. These are not easy cases for them. My bet the regulators didn’t play along and they threaten to sue the government next. These cases may scare off some vendors but I really don’t think supply is going to be as affected as most.

Keep in mind it’s not just China anymore. Factories in India and the Middle East are producing peptides it’s booming worldwide. Korea is even getting involved. Soon we will see South America it’s just a matter of time.

Read this conspiracy theory somewhere — need to check if any EL executives are running RUO companies on the side, say under family members names. They drop these news or lawsuits from time to time to stir up the pot and get out their old inventory to make way for new batches.

How many EL employees might be running RUO businesses or researching RUO products? 😉

@pep_researcher Saw this too; it's interesting. Clearly, EL can't handle the whole market because the vast majority can't afford cash pay at what they charge, and insurance denies the vast majority of the claims. They know they have access to 20-30pct of the market and price it accordingly and could care less about everyone else they have done the analysis and determined that by pricing it, giving the vast majority access, they make less. So in the end, they don't care about giving everyone access; they care about maximizing profit.

I think the FDA Import Alert 66-80 may ultimately have more impact in disrupting the broader market. Its focus is earlier in the supply chain. https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/cms_ia/importalert_1186.html ; https://x.com/Krysia830073/status/2088735729149194532

@coondogesq they are already moving factories to other countries. Spoke to one last week that’s opening a second facility in the Middle East and possibly India. It’s not just China anymore I keep saying it. The Chinese are involved and always 5 steps ahead. You will see multiple shipments from different countries. Look out for Mexico and South America. People don’t realize that only 10-15pct of narcotics get seized by customs the other 85-90pct get through. The case is based on IP there is no IP on 90pct of the peptides. As always there will be hysteria and then things settle down. Hell the Biden administration banned all of them and promised a major crack down and yet here we are. They basically created the grey boom with their crackdown.

Lilly got the attention it wanted their public relations team has put all the quotes out there, reached out to every media outlet with every talking point. The news cycle will end the law suits will settle or go away and that will be that. Lilly will make their billions on the people who can afford to pay $1000 a month. The rest will find it elsewhere as always

@Stevepep Like South Park said, rich people get Ozempic, the poor get Lizzo!

Damn, how accurate it was a few years ago and it still is under another administration.

@pep_researcher Biden/Harris were in the pockets of pharma; no secret there. Something like 9 million through PACs and other sources. Of course, promises were made. Not politics; both sides get massive money from pharma. The republicans used to bow to them and kiss the ring. Of late, pharma has been giving more to the Dems than Repubs because Trump has an ax to grind wth Pharma over Covid. Love him, hate him, or like me, pay no attention; it could be way worse when it comes to access to Peptides

@Stevepep big pharma is a double edged sword — without them we wouldn't have GLPs and many other therapies. But with them we will keep having the access and pricing issues.

I've been in so called public healthcare countries. They don't even get so many options. People get offered Liraglutide and Metformin.

@pep_researcher For sure, they have amazing R&D, but its the evil empire. They have done the impact analysis on peptides and determined what to bring to market that doesn't impact other medications, profit centers. They are slow rolling Reta; it's obvious. While they do the slow roll they are creating market buzz, and trying to drive up black market prices. Its all strategy.
