Sub Q pinning for leaner lab rats
-
I’m having difficulties finding pinning locations that have sufficient fat under the skin for trouble free injections. I’m not super lean, (around 15%) but the loose skin around my belly from weight loss has been a bust. Bad knots and red, angry sores that last weeks are no bueno. I’ve tried reaching around to my backside, but the mechanics of getting the pen oriented right and being able to push the button throughout the dispense has been difficult. Today my KLOW was at least partially a topical application.
Any ideas?
Daily pinning:
KLOW 15 units AM
SS-31 30 units AM
TESAMORELIN 40 units PMThanks

Have you tried sitting down? It should flare the backside skin out to make the angle easier to reach? Or change the dilution? 30/40 units is a pretty hefty subq injection for the stomache area. Much over 10 or 15 units leaves a pretty good lump for me. Inner thigh may be an option to depending on how you are carrying your body fat.
And klow is just gonna be un-fun with the ghk-cu in there.
My little lab rat prefers 1/2" 29mm pen needles or longer if just using syringes to get a little deeper under his fur.

@SpaceGhost I would try using a 4mm length pen needle and you're really going to have to pinch the area real good. Unfortunately, the more lean you are it's going to leave much more of a welp or "bubble" under the skin.

I was using a 4mm and was getting the bumps. I read on here to go with a longer needle and that generally has helped,

@SpaceGhost one thing that helped me with getting the orientation right is keeping the vanishing needle cap on. With a 8mm pin it sticks out a little so I can feel placement before I push in, then because of the cap I can feel when it's flush. I know these caps aren't popular but for rump sticks I really like them personally.

Have you tried an auto injector pen like the Gansulin or ConviPen? They are much easier to inject in the tush, for me.

I failed with the Gansulin this morning with my KLOW. Reaching around to pinch must have caused me to not get good penetration. I have really started to hate the Zulins because they are so hard to depress. The V4 is awesome.
Who knew my 10 unit Test C IM into my quad every morning would be my easiest pin of the day!

I’ll give that a try.
I also may try going back to the short needles now that I’m targeting the fanny.

Around the outer thigh have been my best spots for me. Greater chance you will not hit a nerve. My legs are lean but still manage to pin probe, pinch and pin.

I don’t pinch the rear. I just reach back and stick the needle in. Then press. It is much easier with the auto injector, because it doesn’t require much pressure.
I only pinch when I use my tummy (I’m pretty lean, too)

Thanks. When I’m done with this cart of KLOW, I’ll repurpose the Gansulin for my largest injection.
