The Reta Anhedonia Paradoxical Paradox
-
Is Anhedonia really a side effect? Anhedonia by its literal Greek definition means "without pleasure". The exact opposite of anhedonia is hedonia, which is the normal human capacity to experience pleasure, comfort, and satisfaction. Thats is where Hedonism comes from. Hedonism is the philosophical and lifestyle belief that pleasure and happiness are the highest goods and the ultimate aims of human life.
So what gives? Glp-1 bunts the hedo' in you. We can titrate up and we can titrate down. Were we given a control dial? Do we really have it this good?

Haven't had any desire for alcohol since week 2, though it still tastes fine. Huge win. Sadly, it hasn't changed my desire to smoke.

GLP-1 blunting neurotransmitters is a know side effect to the point that anyone with a history of transmitter imbalance was excluded from the phase three trial of Reta.
I made a post a few weeks ago about it because I was in a very dark place after a dose increase. One reply was someone man-xplaining diet and nutrition. I find it comical now but at the moment it sent me into a tailspin of rage. I dialed my dose back down and the anhedonia symptoms lessened.Since reta causes dysesthesia and anhedonia at higher doses, I don’t know how that’ll go over with public once it’s released to the market.
