Not sure if this is where I should post this type of question but wanted to ask just in case. I was reconstituting a peptide when I popped the cap and noticed the aluminum ring around the lid was spinning loosely. It didn’t seem to affect the seal for the stopper because there was still a strong vacuum on the vial.

I went ahead and reconstituted the peptide, removed it from the vial with the loose cap, and used a PES filter to place the peptide into a new sterile vial.

I wanted to double check to see if this would be sufficient in this situation or should I just discard this peptide due to the poor crimping on the aluminum cap?

    Thanks in advance!

vacuum is everything. These bottles are produced at scale and we've seen this happen. The metal seal is just to keep the stopper in place. The vacuum on the stopper is what matters.

What vendor gave you this vial?

It was from Glacier Aminos. I haven’t had any issues with any other vials I’ve ordered from them. Just seemed to be maybe this one batch that didn’t get the metal seal tight.

        Thank you for the info!

Had same from Ascension peptides. It was my first vial I’ve ever opened so maybe user error? Still had vacuum on it and doesn’t leak
