Combined Vials and loaded pen
-
I thought i would share the good, bad, stupid, and ugly from today’s learning exercise. I decided I wanted to start my epitalon cycle. I plan to go 5mg x 20 days for the first run. The goal for today was to reconstitute 5 10mg vials, combine them into a separate vial, then load them into a cartridge so I can use my shiny new Gansulin pen.
Starting with 5 vials of VP epitalon, I reconstituted each vial with .6 ml of bac water. The COA for each is 12.49 mg, so 5x12.49 =62.45 / 5 = 12 doses @ 5.20~ mg. 3 ml total gets me 25 units per dose. I waited a little bit and confirmed the peptides were in solution. Then I pulled the peptides back into a syringe and into a 5ml sterile vial. Then I pulled as much out of that as I could and loaded it into the cartridge. I had what looked like 2.7 ml when I pulled everything into the big syringe, and when I cleared the air from the cartridge I pushed 44 units, so I guess i lost 44 units (ish) to inaccuracy, loss, and sloppiness. Readjusting based on 256 units, I will research 21 units for 12 days and need to get a few more vials to complete the cycle. The Gansulin pen took a minute to figure out but seems very smooth. So smooth it’s smoove.
Mistake #1: I only have 1 inch luer lock needles, and I needed 1.5”. So, basically, I lost a little from each vial. Probably not a lot, but a few units per vial is still wasted peptides.
Mistake #2: I probably should have used a 1 ml insulin syringe or smaller luer lock syringe (needles and syringes ordered) for better accuracy than the 3ml syringe.
Mistake #3: I should have used a smaller loading vialFeedback welcome. I hope this helps. Oh, and @randy I ordered two Xulin pens - Red before they’re out of stock, because ofc I want red.

@ResearchCat good call on the xulin. We are being told by two suppliers red is over...though im always on the hunt.
The accuracy thing and loss you get better at. I only find myself grabbing a unit syringe when I'm doing .05ml on something.
You could redo the math with the extra. The only thing i dont see are filters.... this rat filters.

Thanks Randy. I thought about it but the only filters I have are some 22mm that I got before I saw your videos on it. I will get some 4’s or the ones you have and use them next time. I am haunting the bac water source you sent me for a sale. Still building out, even though my office is looking more like a lab daily.
Oh, and i am riding your affiliate links like a dime story pony. I hope you get some $$ out of it,.

@ResearchCat hey Cat heres my opinion with Epitalon and TB-500
This is just me…
Epitalon i took 5ml per day so (2) shots per bottle…
If you did (1) ml per day then it would be worth doing a pen, however i dont use a pen with Epitalon.
I mix 1ml per 10mg Epitalon bottle.
I get a 1ml luer lock and i draw .5 in each syringe then i get (2) syringes.
Then you buy 31-32-33g either 4mm-or 5mm and i preload like 1week supply and keep in the fridge in a dark box.
TB is the same because i do like 2.5mg -5mg per shot, so a pen is not worth wasting a pen cartridge.

@diegoc Thanks. I appreciate the info. I am new to branching out into my own research and running protocols like this. Up to now, I have been mostly running stacks where one vial lasts 4-6 weeks and I am researching a set common amount. Your suggestion will definitely be useful when I run a cycle of SS-31 in a few weeks.
I love getting info from other folks on their practices. (Especially if they aren’t telling me I need 1,000 mg 4x daily injected directly into the rat’s eyeball.

Follow up: today I reconstituted 2x70mg GLOW and 4x10mg Epitalon to finish this cycle. I reconstituted the GLOW with 3ML bac water each and loaded one into my new shiny red Xulin pen. Smooove. The second will be for my bride’s rat, who hasn’t been convinced that pens are better. I think I have grown up enough that I want to use the pens as much as possible.
For the epitalon, I reconned each vial with .5 ml, which in retrospect is probably not enough. Everything dissolved but it took some stirring. I used the new 1.5” needles to combine the 4 vials into one and am taking @diegoc ‘s advice and just going to use a syringe since it is 8 more days. I’ll reserve the pens for longer cycle peps. The longer syringe let me suck the vials dry, though vacuum is still a challenge sometimes.
Oh, and if you like good coffee, the sticker is from Red Rooster Coffee in Floyd, VA. They roast good beans. (Holler at me if pimping non-peps that aren’t my business is verboten.)
I am in the groove, and plotting an SS-31 cycle next. Going to be fun with a bunch of 10 mg vials….

Today’s fun was reconning 10x10mg SS-31 vials and loading them into 2 carts. Overall clean run with very little waste.
I did 2 lines of 1 into 1 … with 5 vials each to keep it moving.
Lesson: Make sure your vent needle doesn’t end up under the fill line or you may get backflow up the vent.
I flipping love the Gansulin pen and need to get more of them. I also tried the 32g 6mm pen needles and they are sweet! Charlie the research cat doesn’t even feel them.
Is there anything special to do with a loaded cart you aren’t using yet? I just put it in the Gansulin pouch. Might throw it in a little baggy. (I purged the excess air.)
