Pen Use

Ok so I'm getting up to researching on daily basis and my research area was looking like a skid row gutter after a couple of months so I have decided to get a pen. I've watched all of the videos and plan to filter into the pen cartridge when possible but was unsure how to store it in-between uses. Is it correct to store it without a needle tip? I was going put a new one on before each use and remove it after each use then store it. Does this sound correct?

I do not store my pen with the needle on it. If you think about it, even with the cap on it, the needle is an open line to what is in the cartridge…
I put the needle on the pen just before the shot, then take if off and store the pen in my case in the refrigerator..

we've been emailed images of peoples setups with their needles on them stored. Its gross. dont do it.
