Novopen 4

Yes as long as you get the Max V1 adapter with it. The cartridge holder it comes with is meant for a Penfill insulin cartridge and a 3ml cartridge is slightly too thick to fit in the cartridge holder.

@Ctrain24 be warned on these adapters. whoever is injection molding them is doing a piss poor job. ive had 3 split on the threads.

Funny you mention that. After making that post I started playing with it testing the accuracy with an easy touch and the threads on the adapter sheared off. Found a 3d print on maker world to modify the Penfill cartridge holder it came with. The pen is inconsistent regardless. It gave me 1 or 2 extra units multiple times. The V2 and Xulin 3 I got from you are spot on everytime.

I have no problems with my Nova 4. It is my favorite pen. The NP adapters I have are fine. But Max Headroom (the one who designed the NP adapter) posted the 3d print file on STG so anyone could print them. I know the settings are hard to get right to print it. So I am sure there are a bunch of junk ones out there.
I prefer to modify the original cartridge holder and use that with the other adapters I go off of Etsy…
To each their own on what pens they like, Nova 4 is my favorite pen, Convi/Gansulin my second favorite. I no longer have any more Convi or Gansulin pens, my friends took them all from me…

I really like the mechanism on the Novo 4. Think I might've gotten a dud though. Have you tested your Novo for accuracy? Mine is accurate in 5 unit increments but any setting outside an increment of 5 gives me 1-2 extra units.

@Ctrain24 ive had some carts fit and some not. Thanks for mentioning the STL's are available in stg. I grabbed them. Trying them at .2 with some pla and some nylon filament.
The novo pens are one of the better feeling mechanisms but if the spacing is off (carts can vary by a few mm) then you have to put a spacer in or it just spits out the wrong amount.

Got the pen and adapter from DaroPep. Do not recommend the adapter though for reasons posted above. If you have the penfill adapter it came with its better to sand down the inside of it a little so a 3ml cartridge fits and get a 3d printed adapter for the pen needle tip. @dinoraja

@Randy
Isn’t there also some carbon filament or something that is stronger you could print them out of. The guy who does all my 3d printing mentioned something about it.
Also Max updates those files a lot, so check back periodically to see if he has any new ones. He is obsessed with making that thing perfect. I know he has a newer one possibly than the 1.29… -

I would love to know if the np max is working perfectly or someone got it working perfectly.
thanks

The new version currently available is v1.37 and way better than the previous ones. No spacer required and more durable. Got a Novopen 6 a couple of days ago and it's excellent with the latest adapter.

You should buy both and you will see for yourself. There is a reason a lot of people buy the Novo 4 and buy the adapter. But if you have to ask why, you should probably just buy something else… leave the Novo 4 for the vast amounts of people that bought 10 different pens to test them and now use the Novo 4. Probably to much trouble for you…

@Commander, just ordered from Daropep, you answered the question. My concern is accuracy. I will see how it goes and test it. I am thinking to go through all this trouble, it's got to be great and it's the cost of almost 4 V4's and two Xulins so it needs to be. You are a great poster, so here we go

@Commander Novopen Echo Plus W/ NP Max Adapter is $97 on daropep. Is there a better place
