So, my sister-in-law is researching with Ratatouille and she started researching about 4 months ago and has been on ultra low dosing starting at 0.5 mg per week and now is currently on 2.25 mg and started having skin sensitivity issues. She and I are both confused because we were under the impression that this side effect was really only noted in trials where people were on much higher doses. Wondering if any other is out there have had a similar experience with reta on low doses like this with skin sensitivity? Could it possibly be the vendor and product that she is using? We are using different vendors for the product. Would love any thoughts or experiences with similar issues. Thanks!

I just found out some more information that might be of use. Apparently, her virtual in-another-state "peptide coach" said that her 46 mg vial would be fine in the fridge in a light-sealed box for up to 6 months 😂. She is on month 4. Would the level of degradation that has (almost certainly) occurred potentially cause more side effects? I would think it would just make the product impotent.
Oh, a couple more questions that may e I will make a different question for the community with, but she has a bunch of these 46mg vials in the freezer. Would it be better for her to try and somehow carefully split and transfer the unreconstituted powder to smaller sterile vials and freeze those? Can you freeze reconstituted reta if filtered into a smaller sterile vial and use it later?

@Nugzz49 Thanks for the quick reply and the zinc advice! I guess the main question was if anyone had experienced this side effect on small doses. I would consider 8mg a pretty moderate to larger dose.
I posted some updates to my questions that may have affected her product though and would love thoughts on those too!

A large number of people in the trials had skin sensitivity. I get it on my second dose at 0.5 mg any time I try to start. I know a few others who've had similar issues.

I'm in my sixth week of Reta and had it the first week for about 5 days. I still feel it very mildly from time to time but it doesn't linger. Nothing like the first week. I believe its called dysesthesia but I've also heard it called something else. I started with 2mg split into 1mg doses twice a week. Still following the same dosage now. Zinc Picolinate as mentioned above by @nugzz49 is recommended by many people from what I've gathered. What helped me that first week was Zyrtec (Cetirizine HCl). Took it before bed and the next morning it was gone.

@Ctrain24 thanks! Zyrtec is what I was thinking of suggesting to her. I use a research version of the AI Perplexity in my medical practice and it suggested to avoid alcohol and hot showers or other skin irritatants and make sure you were doing light exercises instead of heavy for a bit and considering supplementing with vitamins B1, B6, B12, magnesium, and making sure protein is adequate at the 1.2-1.6g/kg/day. If it persists for more than 4 weeks, reduce dose or talk to your doctor about low dose gabapentin or amitriptyline.
I was mainly throwing this out there as a straw pole if people had noticed this at low doses, and it looks like yes, so thanks!

@Randy said in Skin sensitivity with ratatouille?:

Good to know! Thanks! I had just seen the 20.9% flin the TRIUMPH 4 testing for doses at 12mg or higher data.

Curious to hear your thoughts on the other two questions I added to my original one. I can put it up as a separate topic if that helps?
Thanks for all your YouTube content and this site btw! Just awesome. I forward them to everyone I know who is researching.

@mattclayton the puck is not something you can split. the puck is filler. peptides mixed in. Its formed during the freeze drying process. Dont try this.

You'd get localized ISR. Not skin sensitivity from expired months old reta. maybe an infection if its not sterile.

Some poeple handle the allodynia it and it goes away, some wait 16 weeks for it to clear up and some cant handle it at all (me). Ive tryed all the remedies you listed including mucinex and a few others. What worked for me was switching back to tirz.

Honestly reta is neat. It really is...but its getting hype because its new. It doesnt handle food noise as well as tirz, it has more side effects than tirz and trial data suggests it causes more weight loss but at the cost of more muscle wasting. A lot of these "coaches" are personal trainers who used to push sarms and jumped on the peptide bandwagon. Reta is great but i don't feel it's worth the hype.
