Tirzepatide split dosing
-
Hey everyone!
I'm currently researching Tirzepatide to reduce food noise during my cut. I don't have a ton of weight to lose (~15 pounds), so my goal is to reduce food noise since that is something I struggle with the most.
I started at 0.5mg to test my reaction, and over the past couple of weeks, I'm now at ~1.25 mg every 3.5 days. So far so good - no ISRs, GI upset, tiredness, etc.
Has anyone else had good results dosing like this? I'd love to hear from you guys, as I've learned so much from this forum (and Randy) already!

My rate has more to lose (another 25). Poor little guy also had fatty liver issues a few years ago. So, 4mg tir once weekly, but split dosing 3mg reta for his liver, 1.5 twice per week. Going great. He gets.that minor reta "skin thing",.but a Benadryl pretty much takes care of that. Also magnesium really helps.

I’ve tried it that way, after once a week. To be honest, I wasn’t crazy about it. It didn’t make much of a difference. And I realized that I don’t mind the end of the cycle days. Yes the food noise is a bit more present at the last day or two, but that’s good for cheat day. This accomplishes two things, I actually enjoy eating for a day, and i can eat things that clear my GI system better. I found myself at various stages of constipation when I don’t get those cheat days in.

I’m on week-15 of Tirz and have been doing split-dosing for the last 6 weeks. I’m at 3.5mg/twice a week. I’m only down 15lbs, but I’ve been hitting protein goals, lifting, taking creatine, etc…. so the body-composition is better than the scale indicates. Bloodwork has improved and cholesterol levels made a big leap in the right direction. My worst side-effects were like a 4 day window after bumping up to the 5mg/wk dose (sulfur-burps, lotta pooping)… but that was back in week-4 and I haven’t had ANY of that since. I’m with ya on just wanting to cut out food-noise and eat better… lowest effective dose. I almost wish I’d jumped on the Reta bandwagon, but things seem ok where I’m at so I don’t wanna quit something that’s working.

@Jake_PepTron Thanks for the reply! Part of me has a bit of FOMO about the Reta & glucagon thing, but I just ordered a 10-kit of Tirz, so I'll stay on it lol.
Glad to hear the split dosing is working for you!

I researched split dosing 3.5mg of Tirzepatide for a while with pretty good results. I ended up hitting a stall and decided to add 750mcg Cagrilintide on Saturday and go with a 7.5mg once a week Wednesday instead of trying Reta or increasing my Tirzepatide. I have had great results with Tirzepatide/Cagrilintide.

Started Tirz in April and I been split dosing 5mg Sunday2.5-Wed2.5. My main goal for this research protocol is to help with eating disorder developed after loosing 200+lb. Split dosing has helped silence food noise completely throughout the week and resulting in slow and steady weight loss which I was looking for.

@Atlas I've split my tirzepatide dose ever since I started back in September, and it has been working, with no terrible side effects, so I just kept going that way. I'm a 5'6" woman battling metabolic syndrome, early-stage diabetes, and a huge menopausal visceral fat gain, not to mention inactivity due to a leg injury, so it's been very slow going, but the tirz is still helping, although maybe not as noticeably as at the beginning. I'm at about 3.5mg per shot now, and like you I got the Reta FOMO recently, so I decided to try adding a small dose of that once or twice a week, but so far I am NOT a fan of Reta at all, and will probably give up on it entirely as soon as this bottle is gone.

Hi @atlas
Please be very mindful of split dosing; I did it for months and glad I stopped. I feel sure you know what a peptide accumulation calculator is, please take a look and make sure it's what you want to do. Although you won't get the big dip, as I call it, your levels will rise and remain quite a bit higher than you think. If you pick something akin to Reta, it will pretty much double the GIP (Tirz) and make it very difficult to return to baseline and the glucagon hit will enhance the food noise, esp. for carbs.I'm on the fence regarding the 'receptor burnout' hypothesis, but I think it likely, as the body always seems to develop resistance to so many substances.
I know the 15#'s is important to you, my last 20 is important to me; but if you get yourself in a fix you can't get out of, it's going to be rough. It's important to remember that these peps were not designed to eliminate all food noise, but to give you a fighting chance against it.
If you decide to use a glucagon pathway, be prepared; at least pick one that does NOT contain the GIP pathway (Tirz).
Here's a couple of calculators; there's better one's out there but this will tell you what you need to know.
Good Luck.

Just so you know how the pros do it. My Dr. started me on 2.5mg [in Zepbound form]. after the first month I still felt fine so we kept it at the same dose. Halfway through month 2 I binged a few times so it went up to 5mg. I switched over to Tirz a month after that after I discovered the price difference and have been on 5 comfortably for 4 months now.
If I feel I need to bump it in the future it will go up in 2.5 increments. -

I'm at 6.5 right now and moving down. The only food noise I have is due to Survo 1mg and it doesn't last long. Although I'm no longer considered obese, I have a large amount of visceral fat left and need to get rid of it, and it is leaving, but it doesn't show up on the scale yet. I was told it would do this so I was prepared. At 70 yrs. of age, I will likely go to a form of micro-dosing Tirz and when enough visceral fat is gone, then, no more Survo.

@brianluna Good-on-ya for the self-reflection & positive correction. Slow & steady for the win! I’m on Sun/Wed as well… and can still enjoy going out to eat w the fam on the weekends without over-doing it. The scales can be deceiving, bloodwork-tracking, how-I-feel & how-clothes-fit seem like better markers for me at this stage. Keep it up!
