Odd comments on Peptide Crafters ara-290 COA - what's this?
-
There are comments on a COA for ara-290 on peptide crafters that I haven't seen before. A quick google makes me think this batch may be dangerous or suspect without identifying exactly WHAT caused the other peak. Anyone know for sure what this means? https://peptidecrafters.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/HPLC-ARA-290-16-mg-PC-G1-AR16-scaled.png

This HPLC COA is also from the same batch, 2 months later.

My research using AI concluded that mentioned "unretained peak" is something negligible and likely is a moisture or salt. I checked with Peptide Crafters to confirm they run counter-ion step to make it an acetate salt, not TFA. I actually coincidentally purchased the same batch yesterday from them.

@vpeptides So are you saying Peptide Crafters claimed they manufactured this? That's sketch....

@jamiegallien I can't say for sure but my understanding is that the companies run lyophilization phase themselves. They may receive the synthesized product as TFA salt, then run counter-ion process to replace TFA salts with acetate salt, then lyophilize.
Or they receive it already as acetate salt.
But this is my speculation, and they are not very clear and open on what they do and where they do it.
This was the response:
Our products are supplied as acetate salts, meaning acetate is the specified counter-ion for the finished product. We do not supply our products as TFA salts.
