So, I read on various forums about people that stack Reta and Tirz. I have been stacking Tirz and Cag in recent weeks, since they allegedly attack appetite suppression from different angles, but I am curious what are the thoughts on a Reta and Tirz stack? I ask because I have been on the max Tirz dose (15mgs) for a few months and stalled. Added the cag, up to 1.25 mgs, and it hasn't seemed to add to the suppression (in fact gained two pounds in these recent weeks). My protein intake is good, exercise is nominal (could always be better) but have gotten a bit discouraged after I initially cut about 40lbs on Tirz before the stall and current added pounds. Just seems like reta and tirz may overload the same receptors?

I'm curious about this too- I've seen more influencers promoting that combo over adding cag to your glp. I haven't found many reputable sources to go by.

Just someone with a fridge full of research and a browser history that would concern my doctor.

Are you tracking calories? Like really tracking? That includes sauces, oils, etc. I'm on 1.5mg tirz 2x a week and my appetite is absolutely crushed.

No, I am not but I am a very simple eater who doesn't change much week to week with my foods. I came from max dosage on Sema, which helped, until the last two months, then switched to Tirz with my doctor telling me go right to the max since I had already been on the max for Sema. I think that was a mistake so I had no more room to move up. The max tirz helped for 4 months then the suppressing properties just went away. That's why I added the Cag. Most people on Cag can't tolerate going above 1mg, and I'm on 1.25 with no side effects nor additional help. And I am not an obscenely overweight guy (6'2", 214lbs), which in my mind would make more sense if I lacked hunger control.

@crash2127 My suggestion is to download a calorie tracking app (I use Macro Factor), and track literally everything you eat for a week or two. It's all calories in, calories out. GLP medicines do not make you lose weight on their own - they just suppress appetite enough to put you in a calorie deficit.

For example: I'm 6'2" 197lbs, and I lift weights 4x a week, so my maintenance is about 3,100 calories a day. Right now I'm eating 2,600 calories a day, and losing about 1lb per week.

Ok, thanks. I'll look into it. I blame my Italian heritage and my Nona that lived with us growing up. MANGIA! for every meal until we all felt like we were going to throw up meatballs, lol. I just have a strong will now over feeling full!

I aliken it to the super soda joke. Cokes good. Pepsi does the same thing. Now you got two flavors in one cup that still makes pee. I guess im one of the few glp1 stack naysayers. Unless you find that quint agonist thats rolling out this year none of it is novel beyond reta. Any time i stall i just double my cardio. And eat cleaner. As easy as the pin to win mechanic has helped. Its no replacement for caloric displacement. If thats not an option the only other way is to affect metabolism or how your body consumes energy. You could try gh secretagouges. Straight gh lowdose. Motsc. Atx304. Aod. Bam15. Cardarine. Some safer than others but Plenty of other options. Also get your blood tested. Never know if you have underlying deficiencies. Good luck.

I am not a doctor, and going max dose is just what a doctor would say. I’d suggest watching some of the Dr. Jones videos. Take it for what it’s worth, but oftentimes people experiencing what you describe are stalled either because you’ve lost so much muscle that you’re suffering a metabolic crash. I echo what Atlas suggests. People on GLP’s often eat a lot less than they think they’re eating.

Get enough calories, make sure you’re exercising regularly, including weights, and get enough sleep. If that doesn’t help, look at either stopping all GLP-1’s for a month to reset or maybe consider SS-31, MOTS-C, NAD+ cycle for a metabolic reset if you are open to that.

                  I am not a doctor.

Please set a funny and sarcastic signature line. It brings me joy. Thank you for your attention in this matter.

Yes, I agree, that is why I am confused about so many people jumping on the two glp1 stacks. Thought I was missing something. Thank you.

I appreciate your thoughts and you touched on another question I had about stopping for a bit and trying for a reset. Hard to find solid information on whether it makes any difference. I have seen some vloggers suggest it and just supplement with other options during the break, like maybe even Slupp332. I've done the whole NAD/Mots C combo for a bit, but didn't seem to see any difference from it. I admittedly though skipped right past the ss31, which I understand should be cycled in first. I was on Tesa, which I did see results, but was also getting the water weight side effect as I titrated up. Im presently off cycle with it right now. Going to switch to cjc/ipa stack in a few weeks instead to see if i like the results better. Thank you for your ideas (not medical advice, because you are not a doctor, lol).

I tried Tesa, but have had much better results and fewer side effects (pain, swelling) with CJC/Ipa. Keep in mind, with any of these, you need to be lifting weights or doing some other exercise to have them be useful. But yes, a GHRH with a GLP-1 should be synergistic.

I think MOTS-C can be effective on its own, but if your problem is metabolic, you should start with SS-31. Maybe check out the mechanic stack Josh Holyfield and others talk about. It layers in SS-31, MOTS-C, and NAD+ in an overlapping cycle. A friend is doing it now (3rd time) and says it gives him a huge energy boost.

I’ve cycled MOTS-C a few times and do think it gives me more energy. But it is subtle and how much you notice may depend on your activity levels.

I do lift, but had to transition in recent years to light weights. I have severe lumbar scoliosis and I can't take much weight into or through my waist line. Seated chest presses, pull downs, anything that supports my back while i lift is ok (and i dont mean a weight belt, it doesnt help unfortunately). Lots of walking is my life. I am in my mid 50s and looking to live one day less than my daughter. And I did watch the occasional Holyfield video, so I'll check the mechanic stack out. I definitely got behind the 8 ball with it since I had the NAD and Mots, but left the ss31 out. In fact I still don't even have any on hand. But, it will just get added to my next shipment, thank you.

Reta is tirz with a glucagon peptide. Now do the math. Is their GLP and GIP 1 :1 to a mg? Maybe there is something by increasing/titrating GLP-1 and GIP that is in the mix/math. Only one way to find out. "Pinch, pin and pray".

Understood, and I likely should have started Tirz much lower than the max and titrated up, but I truly followed my prescribers orders and now regret it. But I have read multiple articles that the appetite suppression of Reta was actually designed to be 40% less that Tirz due to the increased effects of the Glucagon they added in? So I am not sure they were ever equal at the GLP1 level. This is all an experiment I guess.

Oh man, good Italian food is my weakness! I made aglio e olio last night, and I forgot that high-fat meals and GLPs don't play well 😆

Anyway, I highly suggest getting to the gym at least 3 times a week. Even if you can't lift heavy, resistance training will prevent muscle loss and actually increase your daily calorie expenditure.

Despite them being the same with respect to the GLP-1 and GIP agonists, it is important to note that many users note better hunger suppression (and booze, drugs, gambling, etc) suppression with Tirz than with Reta. A friend is on Reta and is hungry a lot, which in his case is good because he works out and needs to hit his macros. When I was on 10 mg Tirz, I had no desire to eat at all so i titrated myself back down. I am around 5mg now and increase or decrease +/- 1mg as needed to stay on goal.

Given the OP’s situation, a reset likely won’t make things worse an is likely to improve things based on on all I have read and watched. (We are not the target audience, but Countess of Shopping has been on GLP-1’s for 3 years and talks about stalls, resets, etc all the time. Worth checking her out, but be prepared for many long videos. Look for one on stalls and resets.)

Please set a funny and sarcastic signature line. It brings me joy. Thank you for your attention in this matter.

@ResearchCat I love my Reta, enough hunger to get my proteins in has allow to not only maintain and gain more muscle. Due to it's 5-6 day half life. If I push it to 6-7 days you could actually finish a whole meal. I still watch what I eat though A good cheat day steak platter with fixing for me is bliss. If not I just reset with a dose on the 5-6 day when you feel them soft chocolate chips cookie calling.

Yes, I generally take my Tirz Saturday night so I have Friday night and saturday as re-feed days, and run pretty tight during the week. For a while I was doing a 5 day cycle, but then I wasn’t eating enough, so I stopped. If we listen to our bodies, sometimes we can tune our dosing (specific to GLP-1’s) to optimize our goals and not lose a ton of muscle and/or tank our metabolism. But it can be hard to do when we’re watching the scale drop.
