Mito Stack Help (MOTS-C, SS-31, NAD+)
-
After about a month, I decided to add SS-31 for the month of July, running it at 1 mg, 5x/week because I figured it might make sense to focus on mitochondrial repair first. During that time, I cut back on the MOTS-C since I didn't want to waste it while trying SS-31.
This week I added NAD+. I still have a couple of vials of MOTS-C left, but honestly I feel like I've been a little all over the place with this mitochondrial stack because I haven't experienced the benefits that so many people talk about besides maybe a little more endurance when I took SS31 fasted pre cardio.
So I'm wondering how people normally approach this. Would it make sense to take a complete break for a few weeks before trying MOTS-C again, even though I never really completed a full cycle?
Right now I'm thinking about continuing NAD+ at 25 mg, 3x/week, running SS-31 at 1mg daily for a month, and then going back to MOTS-C 3x/week afterward. Does that seem like a reasonable approach?Running all of these together has honestly become a bit overwhelming, especially since I travel a lot for work, so it's been difficult to stay consistent. I'd like to simplify things, reduce the number of injections, and focus on one compound at a time.
I'm also trying to figure out whether all of this is worth the time and money. I'm 34 and in pretty good shape, but I also realize I probably didn't execute the protocol as consistently as I should have, so I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. I also still have quite a bit of MOTS-C on hand, so I'd like to use it if there's still value in giving it another proper run.

You dosages are way to low to really be effective. That might be the problem. SS-31 is 2 to 4mg daily. NAD is 25 to 50mg daily, MOTS-C is 1.5 to 2mg daily…
There is no magic take this for 3 weeks than add this for two weeks, than add thsat.
I started with MOTS-C, than added NAD, than added SS-31 for a month.. never stopped the MOTS-C or NAD.
You also have to take that vitamin with it - THAT IS VERY IMPORTANT!

this! This is what my buddy is researching right now. Note that I am not endorsing this specific protocol; I think the SS-31 is a bit low. But this is a very popular combination that people get benefits from. (You can adjust amounts to suit your needs.) This is not a beginner’s protocol. You really need to know your tolerance for MOTS-C and NAD+ before researching these volumes.
Also note that the benefits may stack. You might not ‘feel’ much different the first time through, but as you repair your mitochondria, you will see increased benefits the second, third, etc time through.
CONCURRENT PROTOCOL (moderate age-related decline, active and functional) Weeks 1 to 8: SS-31 at 1 to 2 mg daily + MOTS-c at 10 mg split into 3 injections per week + NAD+ at 100 mg 3x per week Weeks 9 to 12: Continue MOTS-c + NAD+ (SS-31 repair phase complete) Then: 4 to 8 weeks completely off, repeat 2 to 3 times per year

Most every protocol I've read, SS-31 is suggested for people of older age, at minimum, 40 yrs, plus. You're wasting your money with using it at this time, IMO. I'm 70 with MTHFR and some notable mito damage from medical treatment, so it's vastly different for me. I don't take MOTS-C, NAD+ does wonders for me; SS-31 has given me a bit of a bump up after taking it for only 3 weeks. As @commander said, you do need to be taking the B-vitamins if you're working the stack you listed.

@Eleanor I'm also MTHFR so I started this exact thing a week and a half ago. My question is do you take the MOTS-C daily? I'm taking all 3 daily (a tad higher on each) plus Reta every third day.

I have seen several protocols for SS-31 that are up near 10mg a day. I am currently running 10mg a day....it is not cheap, but I think after about a month, I can see the difference. Pairing with MOTS-C and L-carnitine....I started the MOTS-C two weeks after starting SS-31.

@rmchrist What difference do you see from SS-31? I'm early days but wondering if I will actually notice anything or just see it in labs later

I did mots 1-2mg, NAD+ 10-20mg and SS-31 1mg for over a 2 months every other day. I rotated co-Q10, Ethylene Blue, l-carnitine, Methalated B complex and PQQ/ALA on the days I wasn't pinning. I been off the three for two weeks now and my instant shift to high cellular energy production instead of a sluggish start called the metabolic switch or metabolic flexibility is still instant. I dont need to wake up early and give myself an hour with a loaded latte just to reboot. Now I drink it just for pleasure. I am 55yo, before the mitochondria stack I dreaded getting on the floor with my toddler because it was hard ramping up energy just to get back up. Even starting a jog was a chore. Not any more. I can't say SS-31 helped but It was added just in case.

@SkepticJen I do not take MOTS-C at all or Reta either.
Tirz, TA-1, SS-31, NAD+. About to finish Survo (glucagon pathway) & KLOW; won't be taking anything with copper again. Once TA-1 & SS-31 round is finished, won't do again for about 6 months. I always take NAD+; I worship it, LOL! Will be starting Cagri with the Tirz in Sept. -
@rmchrist What is your MOTS-C and L-Carnatine protocol, dose and timing? How are you liking this combo? I love this tri-fecta.
@bfuller this stuff is all over the place my daily on this stack is: SS-31 3mg / daily MOTS-C 1.5 going to 2 next week / daily NAD + 33mg / daily. It’s game changing from a performance standpoint. Also from the carb product I have no lag after hard cardio. Ran 6 miles this morning and could have kept going. The every other day stuff didn’t work for me once I went daily I really felt the energy boast lifting and doing heavy cardio. I box on Monday ready to kick some ass or more likely get mine kicked

@Stevepep the reason I started doing every other day was cause I got tired of pinning so much. So I started supplementing for mitochondria support. Now that you're mitochondria is on point. Try 5amino-1mq and Slu-pp-332.
@EXTROPIAN I will look into it I still need to finish the cycle of SS-31 I am a month or so in
