Don't blame yourself too much, gallstones usually don't mysteriously appear in your gallbladder in 3 weeks. You grew them for a long time. GLP1 agonist (any, even Ozempic) could trigger the crisis, but not grow the stones in 3 weeks. Also, patients in trials start with 2 mg a week, it's the lowest dose there, so you could have been fine. On the other hand we have no proof that what is sold as RUO Retatrutide is even the same formula with what Eli Lilly calls Retatrutide. Get well!

    attentiion is all you need

So much going on here. Lol.
Here is my experience. I would advise speaking to your doctor. Rapid fat loss causes the liver to secrete extra cholesterol into the bile. When bile becomes supersaturated with cholesterol, it can form crystals that turn into stones. So doesn't matter whether its Ozempic, Wegovy, Retatrutide or any other rapid weight loss intervention its the rapid fat loss that's the culprit.
Just had mine out 6 weeks ago. I stopped all research. Stopped going to the gym. Doc scheduled a follow up appointment for 10 days after surgery. At that appointment the Doc cleared me to start lifting again. Light. Nothing that would cause abdominal pressure. 4 weeks post surgery I was light running. 6 weeks Im full back.
In regards to food. I ate low to no fat then started introducing fat slowly and one food at a time. This way you can track what gives you issues. I've had only a couple of issues along the way and was able to adjust.
As Im typing this Im eating NY Strip.
I held off until week 4 to start research again. Wanted the extra calories to help with healing. I would not be starting anything at this time. Take a break.

@randy Laying here in a bed with time on my hands. 😁Thanks for the reassurance on eating ribeyes!

My doctor thinks eating meat will kill me. She was ok with GLPs when she prescribed it, and was mad when I quit Ozempic. Then I lost 85 pounds without it. She had never heard of Retatrutide, but was certain it was the culprit.

Neither the GI doc nor the surgeon had heard of it either, but were sure the right answer was stop it.

Time for a new Doctor. I had to find a new one a couple years back. My existing doctor's lack of knowledge at the time was really frustrating. Found a young Doc that was training and doing Jiu Jitsu. Told me he used Wolverine to help heal a pec tear. Knew I found my guy.

Glad you are healing. My wife had her gall bladder out a couple years ago and she can eat whatever she wants. You have to take it easy at first and let your body adapt. Missing the gall bladder makes it harder for your body to process fats, which means eating fatty foods may lead to, ahem, gastrointestinal distress. It varies from person to person, but like I said, my wife has no problems, and not to pile on, but we had rib eye Thursday night. 😉

It seems odd to me that 3 weeks on reta would cause gallstones so bad it had to be removed, unless it was the Ozempic and maybe existing conditions and the reta pushed it over the edge.

Please set a funny and sarcastic signature line. It brings me joy. Thank you for your attention in this matter.

@researchcat I probably manufactured those puppies doing keto/carnivore the past year and a half. Reta may have just added the squeeze necessary to shove one into the duct.

              Edited to add: Ya bastid!

So I currently have a pain on my side, lower right rib cage, I've had it prior to starting reta, still trying (and my doctors as well) why. I have had my gallbladder our a number of years ago. I was told you have to limit fatty foods after that. Yes, they are right, you are sensitive to fatty foods after having your gallbladder out. The first burger I had a week or so after the surgery (red robbin if anyone cares) I immediately had to go to the bathroom or the code brown would have been real! I can tell you after a while you build up tolerance to that again. I eat a lot of healthy fats, and some not, but avoid those for other reasons. So don't think you can't eat those steaks, shit I go to brazilian bbq and feel great after.

On a tangent, I had very bad gallbladder attacks for years prior to knowing what it was. Years of symptoms that were not caught, or diagnosed correctly until a nurse said....hmmmm, you have been here a number of times for the same pain, lets to an ultra sound...... Well I argued for a long time looking at alternatives to removing my organ (I still think we don't know shit, about shit) but I can tell you the day I was sent home, I was limping down the street so happy that the gallstone pain was gone, had the surgery pain, but that was no where near the living with a mostly blocked gallbladder for years.

Take is slow, rest, recover, slowing introduce fat back. Best of luck bud!

I’m home. No lifting or stressing abs for six weeks. Walking, working arms & legs are all okay.
