I'm currently planning to switch my protocol from Retatrutide to Tirzepatide and could use some advice on equivalent dosing. I'm currently on 2mg per week, what would that be for Tirz?

Tirz is a lot stronger than reta for appetite suppression. I’d start at 2.5mg and see how that goes.

I've been curious about switching too.

Just someone with a fridge full of research and a browser history that would concern my doctor.

fwiw, Tirz is most likely safer in the long-term because chronic glucagon agonism has never been studied before. Tirz is much better for food noise and has almost no side effect from my research.

@RagnatLothbrok Tirz takes more than Reta, but does quell food noise much better. I’d go 5mg Tirz if you’re currently on 2mg Reta. Plus with Tirz you won’t get the HR increase you get with Reta.
Both hit the GIP to decrease insulin resistance about the same.

@mikebricker if Tirz is much better for food noise why do I need to go above 2mg? Hunger hasn't been really an issue with Reta at 2mg

@RagnatLothbrok Because the equivalent dosage for Tirz is about double that of Reta. More or less… You could start at 4mg and see how it goes.

@BeeKind I honestly don't know why everyone is so quick to jump on Reta. Tirz and Sema have been on the market for years and aside from GI upset, they are very well tolerated. Reta has a ton of side effects and hasn't even passed phase 3 trials.

All GLPs have side effects. Including Tirz. When I needed to lose 150 pounds Tirz was great. Its a sledge hammer. When I wanted to lose 30 pounds of fat while being able to hit a calorie target and build muscle Reta is King. Visceral fat reduction is epic. Its a scalpel. BTW I've had less side effects on Reta than I had on Tirz. But this was do to better education and finding the lowest effective dose.

@atlas01 new to the peptide world I wanted the newest on the market because of the reviews I heard. Now I'm definitely questioning that.

@Mydogdaryl423 I'm a weird outlier who felt zero appetite reduction even at 8mg per week of Tirz. On 6mg of Reta, I still have to force myself to eat.

@RagnatLothbrok I've been using Reta for 4 months now, lost 40lbs so far and it's been great in that way, but my sleep was already a struggle before and now sleeping is impossible. I also don't have consistent "food noise reduction". I also have side effects some weeks and others it's like I didn't pin at all. I just want to feel mostly decent most of the time.

All of these experiences being shared illustrate perfectly biological variability. I have zero issues with my sleep from Reta and my food noise is dissipated. Def not gone the way it was with Tirz. All great tools and learning to use them to maximize your current goals is the joy of research.

@Mydogdaryl423 Could be related to where people get their Reta from. Some COA's are far more accurate than others. I saw a COA on Telegram from I think Trustpoint that was like 91pct and the Freedom COA on the website was 99.7pct. That will certainly affect potency, and who knows what else could be mixed in there. Some of these labs can't be trusted right now, and that could be one of the reasons people see different results or have different experiences.

If I were starting out today, I would start by buying from the most reputable vendor with rock-solid testing from a rock-solid lab, then at least I have something to compare to if I take a chance on another vendor or go grey.

I have had two different people hit me up saying they were having a bad experience on Reta I asked where they got it and said Do yourself a favor before you switch or quit altogether: order from X. It made all the difference.

I switched the other way a month ago. Went from what would had been a 7.5 Tirz to .5 Reta which was WAY not enough. Titrated up to my current 2mg and am back on track so take that for what it is worth.

Active muscle is what burns the most calories ( most ATP). It is a great part the metabolic chain. Not eating enough food over a long period forces the body into starvation mode. The *side effects are the break down muscle and fat for energy, slows the metabolism, and causes severe harm to the bones, heart, brain, and hormonal systems. You guys need to eat. Well need to learn how to eat. Reta allows you to do just that and still loose weight. With reta alone you'll loose a ld a week. Tune up your diet you'll loose more. Start exercising even more and you'll be preserving muscle. You need to titrate/dail your Reta right until you find the sweet spot. You need to eat people. Just YouTube glp friendly foods. Just be careful with the meats today. For all we know we are being fed all them wild horses they rounded up recently.
