Does anyone know how much research product is lost in 3ml pen cartridge when it reaches the end?

Generally, 3- 5 units, you can use a syringe to pull it out. Don't use a spacer to push it out; it won't be accurate, and the spacers will break the pen.

It depends on the pen. It ranges anywhere from a few units to 10. But I've found that many pens get inaccurate when you get close to the end. For example, if I have 20 units left and try to inject 30 units, I would expect the pen plunger to stop at 10. But some don't and you may get a different dose than 20 units. Again, depends on the pen. As a rule of thumb for me, when the cartridge gets to about 20 units, I just take it out. I either toss it or pull the rest out with an insulin syringe.

Edit Some pens like the Gansulin and Convipen don't allow you to dial more of a dose than is left in the cartridge.

I know it shouldn't bug me as much as it does but it would be nice if the cartridges came with a slightly convex plunger top to get out as much product as possible. But regardless, I still love my pens.

@HockeyRat, you would lose accuracy because the volume per click changes below where they stop.

Just use a syringe and pull out that last bit, and then you know how much you have, too.

@Commander --- And, what I feel is more accurate dosing from the pen versus my "eyeballing" the syringe.

Exactly - as long as the pen IS actually accurate & remains accurate- I’ve got to the point now where I keep a little test kit in an old sunglasses case jutting to test & show people how to as well as actually reconstitute etc before they start but just using tap water.

                  I’ll be getting a stuffed rat 🐀 & starting a YouTube channel before long.🤣

I know what you mean my eyes are bad and every time I try to stick the syringe in the little stupid 3ml vial half the time I ended up sticking my damn finger. I am blind as a bat now. Anyone know of a Peptide that helps your vision?

@Commander I have heard SS-31 helps some people. I think the dosing is pretty high though for eye help. I was reading somewhere they even are testing SS-31 as eye drops in human trials.

@commander I have tried a couple of supplements and some peptides that allegedly may improve eyes/reduce floaters, but I can’t say that I have noticed any difference. My vision in one eye is 80% better since getting the lens replaced due to scarring (annd a subsequent capsulotomy) even with the floaters. Doc doesn’t want to do laser floater removal due to risk/reward profile.

Note that the typical subject for IoL/lens replacement is 80+, so while risk is very low, if you are much younger, as I was, you have a lot longer to live with any complications or side effects that might occur. And it is still probably worth doing. Get the best you can, and only do it once.

Yeah, well, I’m just here for the research, man. - The Dude

@Commander my vision went downhill the last year and I did something that had it improved, like floaters disappeared, the clarity increased. But I was doing a lot of things together. The main suspects are (to me) Carnosine powder, HBOT sessions, red-light sessions. HBOT actually makes vision worse right after the session, but then it quickly restores and maybe improves. Carnosine is a known antioxidant for eye tissue. Also I tried Visoluten peptide just recently, it actually had a similar effect as HBOT making vision worse, but then better after stopping the treatment.

@vpeptides HBOT has been used for several eye diseases. I didn't know it could correct a vision issue that requires the use of readers. How are you using red light on vision. I am intersted, I couldn't deal with readers so got contacts which was life changing. I tried Carnosine but noticed nothing different really

Not specifically on vision, I was using a setup of 6 300w red lamps with reflectors around a swivel chair before HBOT, eyes closed, no glasses. But I know that its ability to "boost" mitochondria via cytochrome c oxidase is known to affect vision positively.
I noticed a long time ago that after the dark winter months, going out and spending time at the sun, just facing the sun with my eyes closed, improves my vision.

I only know this because I’ve been playing around with it for a while now - only actually pinning for a couple weeks though - ARA-290 has possibilities if it is blood flow/nerve related (only from what I’ve read) especially in diabetic related problems/macular degeneration.

Im not using it for that reason but wear glasses so am interested if I notice any difference- I haven’t been doing very long but will post if I notice anything.
Eyesight definitely improves with lowering of HbA1c though - I can personally vouch for that one.

Something else to look into anyway - and add to your warchest maybe 🤣.
