To me peptide test really stepped up. They are still trying to figure out why the hologram on the crimp is missing and Hospira says they have made no changes to packaging but verified the lot number and peptide test has tested the batch.

Happened after they got called out on Reddit. It would be really hard to tell the difference.
Makes you wonder where else this prominent vendor sent this fake Hospira. Medex, who knows? Check your stuff, people.
@Stevepep this made me go check my 25-packs that I have purchased from MedEx. Thanks for the heads up. I found one of my unopened packs was from the lot in question. I opened it to take a closer look at the bottles and these are definitely different than my other Hospira vials. I sent an email to Medex to see what info they can provide.

How long ago did you buy it from them? And what was different on the bottles? I have 4 cases from them. They all have the thing on the crimp, but that looks easy enough to fake

@bfuller The E is real Hospira. If it has that recycling thing and no E its fake. A couple of things to look for. White lettering for the batch and expiration on black label, the hologram on the crimp, cap color magenta, and the E on the underside. None of these are perfect.
The part that is hard to believe is that a supplier has these fakes and has been selling them in the supply chain. The last guy who claims he got hives says he got it from Medex.
And yes, it's kind of to be expected with how much Hospira BAC Water is and the demand that has been created for it. Scammers were inevitable and now even that has to be inspected.

@bfuller extremely difficult peptide test is being a little untruthful it’s been all over Reddit,GLP1 and telegram. They initially got a letter from Hospira saying the batch number matched and it was real. It looks like the bottom of bottle has a recycle mark and that was how they figured it out. Kyrsia picked it up later it’s been going on for days. I for sure thought it was real when I first saw it. The issue is hospira is not uniform in their packaging so it’s hard to tell. Apparently the person used it and had a reaction and that got it going

@pep_researcher Agreed. Mine has a “6” (or “9”) printed on the bottom of it. I think it’s safe to say a letter or number on the bottom is ok (could be associated with batch), but a recycle-logo is not ok.
Someone should make a sexy chart for Hospira BAC that lists things that SHOULD be present and things that SHOULD NOT be present (that have been seen on known fakes).

I don't think so. The scammers are looking to make quick money. Putting QR or data matrix on vials is an involved process, something that scammers won't be investing in IMO.

Could be done for under 1 cent per cap in volume, and assuming they are not getting the caps from the same place as Hospira.
There were two cases this year involving counterfeit Nikes. In one, they were stealing actual Nikes. In the other, they were using the same factories and processes and were able to counterfeit ‘factory accurate’ Nikes, including the authentication and anti-fraud measures.
Unlike Nike, Hospira seems more intent on preventing you from buying their actual product than preventing counterfeiters from selling you fakes.

@Commander I have 3 cases that I have purchased within the last 3-4 months. One of the cases belonged to the same lot number and expiry date in question so I opened it to inspect the bottles closely. These bottles are different from all the other bottles in that they don't have the data matrix on the crimp, the expiry date and lot number are printed horizontally on the label instead of vertically, and there is also a thin black horizontal line on the bottom front of the label which all the other bottles don't have.

Some amateurs bought eBac looking quite like Hospira bottle sold by a few RUO vendors a couple of months ago during shortage. They didn't even realize it wasn't Hospira until having reconstitution problems or getting undesired research outcomes. Was amazed at their ignorance. lol

Amsco has their 25 pack for $275 right now as well. I wouldn't ever need that much but I usually keep an eye on the price of a full pack like that.

I think that was regular BAC they were talking about. Medex still has the Hospira SC BAC for $110
