CAGRI + RETA — New Nature Metabolism Study 🧬
-
Just started Reta/Cag this week. 1mg/250mcg. So far good results (maybe a little diarrhea nothing more) Question about reconstituting Cag used Bac water as usual. Just read a post stating Cag+bac lasts 3 weeks ish before developing fibrils. Suggested mixing Cag with 75% bac and 25% acetic water. Has anyone seen similar problems with Cag? My pen is only 5 days old so will look for fibrils (?) in cartridge. Anyone with any insight is appreciated

@randallchampion There was a poll in a Discord group with a 5mg/5mg Reta/Cag blend listed, so I can only assume it was a potential new offering from their vendor.
There’s definitely a group of people who believe in microdosing Reta, with some starting around 0.5mg. With a 1:1 blend, even 250mcg of each would be an interesting place conceptually. And Cag has been studied at doses into the multi-milligram range, so there may be more practicality to the ratio than it initially appears.
I personally wouldn’t push Cag anywhere near the upper end, but there may be something to this combination under the surface that we just don’t understand yet. I’m interested to see where the research eventually takes it. If it catches on that is.
@Juliano546 How's your research going?

I added Cag to my Reta this week at 100mcg. Cag can pack a wallop when it kicks in, so I'm going SLOOOW with it. I tried once at 250mcg to start and had to quit and wash out. I was sleepy and had brain fog. Serious fatigue.
Figure it's best to start low and be very gradual with it. Find a sweet spot and stop.

@mmp I don't use Tesofensine while on a GLP. I use Tesofensine when I take a break from all GLP. Usually twice a year. I'm on 6mg Reta and that is all. Reta makes me want to eat everything. So, just need to hit the appetite suppression side of things.
I'm basically on maintenance, and want to keep it that way. I've been tapering down the Reta, want to bring it down to 4mg. We shall see.

@Juliano546 How's your research going?
@BeeKind My Cag research has been going extremely well! I'm currently at 266 mcg, strange number I know, but that's just how the math worked out reconstituting 10 mg with 3 mL. Started at 100 mcg, moved to 200, and now 266. I think I've found my sweet spot and plan on staying here. It's accomplished exactly what I wanted, quieting those evening cravings and the constant urge to snack. Definitely a powerful addition alongside Reta!
With the littles in soccer season, we're constantly on the go, which means quick food decisions that aren't always the healthiest. Even with that, the weight continues coming off consistently each week. Low and slow is my approach. I'm not looking to drop weight overnight and end up with a bunch of loose skin. I'd rather give my body time to adjust along the way. So far, I'm extremely happy with the results! Appreciate you following up

Is no one else concerned about fibrils with keeping reconned Cagri? I would have love to stayed on it for an appetite suppressant but I don't want to risk the chance of fibrils to form. If I could find 0.5mg or even 1mg vials of Cagri so I could just recon and inject and throw away the rest I would love that.

@denti There are some that say the fibrils debate is ignorant. Don't listen. Read the patent and understand that there is a scientific and medical reason for the concern. Though not a major issue if you handle the Cagri correctly. It's best kept at PH 4.5-5'ish, and when reconned with Hospira it ends up in the upper 5's, which is pretty good. Note: NN has several new patents that keep Cagri stable at higher PH's for their Sema-Cagri product.
This can back up those claims: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC2634529/ While not definitive concerning Cagri, it's enough to cause pause. Jump to the Conclusion of the article if it is TLDR material for you.
I've had great luck with PGB Cagri. Their test of 3 vials has a variance of only around .1mg, so dosing is pretty accurate. It also recons with a PH of close to 5.8 with Hospira.
That being said, I wouldn't keep a reconned Cagri any more than 4 weeks. Only use Hospira bac.
I think you are smart and have the right idea. Better to play this game on the side of caution and think long term.

@MikeMiranda Little update on my Reta/Cag journey! I'm still consistently dropping around 1.5lbs a week and heavily enjoying the combination. Even better, my recent bloodwork showed positive improvements in my A1C! Those warning signs of prediabetes I was experiencing seem to be fading, so it's pretty damn exciting seeing the numbers moving in the right direction too!

I'll be making a slight increase from 266mcg to 300mcg of Cag this evening. Nothing crazy, just seeing how the combination continues treating me.
All in all, still loving the combination, and seeing those A1C improvements makes it that much sweeter!

My ts is at high dose rt rn. What would would be my course of action to add cagri in? I know it starts as something like. ". 5mg" but do i drop the dose on rt oooor? Only thing that scares the hell outta my ts is getting super constipated. Other than that im just looking at the metabolism and synergistic benefits alone not really food noise reduction.

@quicksilver80 miralax, fiber and probiotics help through the constipation. All I know about cag is to start super low especially pairing with reta

100%! I have been taking miralax and fiber daily for months and it helps a lot. Even on 2-5mg tirz, my GI system pretty much locks up, and MiraLAX solves that - along with the ‘roids. Just make sure you drink plenty of water and get your electrolytes (It’s what plants crave!)
(And my gastroenterology specialist says it’s okay.)
