Reconstitution Needle Size

1 inch vs 1.5? Why one recommended over the other? How about gauge, 23 or 25?

I think the length does not matter as much as your goal is to add the BAC water against the walls of the vial to avoid agitating the lyophilized powder. As for gauge, I think you should try to use the smallest to avoid leaving a large crater in your vial cap, but 23 or 25 are good.

I use 27g 1 inch and they have been perfect. I dont see the need to take a chance of some large guage that, as the other poster mentioned, could theoretically cause unnecessary damage to the rubber. I know they are self-healing, but I have found some grades of the vial stoppers to be better than others.

I use a 1” 25g needle for bac water, and often use a 1.5”, 31g needle to draw the peptides out of the vial and inject into the cartridge. Reason being that a 1.5” needle can usually reach the bottom of a vial and you can draw the full contents out without loss.

Thanks all!

1.5" reaches down to the corner of a 3ml vial, making extraction easier. 21 gauge punctures the BAC seal less. But I am just starting to use this toy for reasons of merely having a cool new tool that you do not have: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F319TL9L and https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DTV1QRDP . So I need to stop bitching about the price of BAC vials as these add to the cost of an oil change.
I found that punctured 3ml cartriges still leak air on purging even without a needle in them. So, I started using smaller vent and fill needles which help but do not entirely eliminate the leakage/weakening of the rubber membrane I use for protection when injecting my girlfriend's big brown beaver: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GMXDWRLN .
You may copy me but I will still continue to have cooler tools than you because I just can't help myself.
