  • DIY Topical Peptide Serum with GHK-Cu + Snap-8 | Base, Mixing & Clean Handling (Video Tutorial)
    S SSB

Randy motivated me and I have started making a few different types - all w/ ordinary HA base.

The first is a GHK-Cu night serum

    Water, Sodium Hyaluronate
    GHK-Cu 1.2%
    Glycerin 3.3%
    Propanediol 3.3%
    Ectoin 1.0%
    Panthenol 1.0%
    Optiphen 1.0%
    Allantoin 0.5%
    Pal-150 0.027%
    Snap-8 0.027%

    the second is morning serum

Timeless HA, Ectoin 2.5%, Panthenol 2.5%
    Beta-glucan 1%, Glycerin 3%, Propanediol 2%
    Allantoin 0.5%, Optiphen 1%, Syn-Ake 3mg

The third is an eczema serum which has been amazing w/ KPV
    Timeless HA 30 mL
    Ectoin 1.05 g (3.5%)
    KPV 5 × ~12.65 mg vials (~63 mg, ~0.21%) via 0.10–0.15 g BAC each
    GHK-Cu 0.09 g (0.30%)
    Yeast β-glucan powder 0.06 g (0.2%)
    Allantoin 0.06 g (0.2%)
    Panthenol 0.30 g (1%)
    Propanediol 0.82 g
    Optiphen 0.21 g

All ingredients bought from supply houses. Hardest thing for me to get cheap is KPV in bulk.....any ideas?

A list built into the guts of the Ecommerce systems these sites use. So it auto blocks purchases and in some cases even blocks access to the website entirely

@Eleanor that’s what I think the owner of that site wants to do. Basically a do not fly list of consumer buyers shared by RUO sellers.

@Eleanor my bad - i meant "bad buyers"....corrected! It's a bit weird to me. Their prices are good it seems but i dont know much else about Peptide Plugs. Owner has an "aggressive" personality on X at least but par for the course in Pep sapce except for Rory and Zak

Old thread but I saw today that Peptide Plugs owner is creating a website to block "bad buyers" who are "jerks" and he is licensing that database to other peptide vendors who can populate it. He posted all about it on his X.

How do we all feel about this? I respect that any seller can choose who to sell to and really respect that chargebacks are painful for vendors to but to create a do not fly list that spreads across industry because any owner is butt hurt is weird.

My guess is that most RUOs are desperate for revenue and wont do this. I wonder what @randy thinks

    Here's the site https://badcustomers.org/

  • Equipment for doing your own testing

People mix up three different questions:

Purity - what fraction of the UV-absorbing stuff is the main peak
Identity - is that peak the peptide on the label
Amount - how many mg of actual peptide are in the vial

A used Agilent 1100/1200 + C18 column + 0.1 mg balance will do #1 and a version of #3. It will not do #2. FOr #2 you need a Mass Spec machine.
HPLC separates by hydrophobicity and measures peak area at 214/220 nm. Purity is just:
main peak area / all peak areas

Practical cheap setup for HPLC: complete used 1100/1200 gradient HPLC with UV/DAD, one new C18, HPLC ACN/water/TFA, 0.1 mg balance. Ballpark $8–15k could be less on used lab equipment sites but need to make sure it has all the modules. Not easy to keep these machines working well without knowhow.

For identity of what is in the vial you need Mass Spec
Best cheap option: ESI single-quad LC-MS

    Agilent 6120/6130/6140, Shimadzu LCMS-2020, Waters QDa/SQD.

Used working ones usually ask $35k–$55k. “Powers on” eBay units at $8k–$20k are often dead. Also really tough to run and maintain - need nitrogen tank at home etc.

@pep_researcher yeah - all respect to that dude. Honestly, he's the GOAT and so many other vendors and researchers owe alot to him, his testing rigor, and even his pen education. Wish him the best. A+ guy and I have had nothing but great success ordering there.

Why is Rory selling the company now? I'm a big fan of Crush and what Rory has done for testing. Sort of bummed he's getting out and becoming an advisor to new owner.
