  • NAION as side effect from GLPs
    T theexquisitehour

Even among people with "normal" insulin functioning, shifts in blood sugar can affect eyesight. If someone is drastically decreasing their food and beverage intake while on GLP meds, they run more risk of experiencing dehydration, electrolyte imbalances, and nutritional deficiencies, all of which are linked to blurry vision, and statistically this population is also more likely to have been diabetic or pre-diabetic beforehand (a known high-risk factor for ocular problems). In studies where GLP/optic neuropathy links were demonstrated, all the potentially overlapping co-morbidities make it difficult to say whether the connection is causational or correlational. I will certainly be watching carefully as further data gets collected, but lots of users report improved sight since starting sema and tirz, likely due to better-controlled blood sugar.

  • Non-sketchy alternative to Hospira bac water (in glass vials)?
    T theexquisitehour

Hmm, this is interesting; apparently, being exposed to air causes bacteriostatic water to rapidly absorb carbon dioxide, which creates carbonic acid, lowering the water's PH. With these being multi-use vials, there will be several syringe punctures into the water bottle over the course of its use, usually with a bit of air introduced each time to equalize pressure and allow drawing the contents, and the reconstituted peptides will also be exposed to air, during preparation, and again whenever syringes are filled for dosing. If it's going to gradually drop in PH over time, maybe using bac water that starts out on the higher end of "normal" would actually provide a helpful cushion...?

@mrjoshua44 I'm so sorry; that must be incredibly disappointing! If anyone reading this has been curious about the various "elin" peptides, their risk factors and research protocols, I highly recommend this detailed comparison and explanation: It's really long and technical, but fascinating food for thought, especially when it comes to assessing potential downsides vs benefits. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVG006bW_3s

  • Non-sketchy alternative to Hospira bac water (in glass vials)?
    T theexquisitehour

@Snake-Pepskin Thanks for that heads up! The most recent results I saw were from tests done in April by Light Labs. PH range was supposed to be between 5 and 7 and Parrox tested right at 7, so technically a pass, but on the upper edge as you noted. I remember seeing good scores for Lamda, and another brand, Quality Research Chemicals, which I ordered through Amazon last autumn, but now I can't find the test page where they compared them.

  • Non-sketchy alternative to Hospira bac water (in glass vials)?
    T theexquisitehour

I know Hospira is considered the gold standard for bacteriostatic water, but I'm not a fan of their plastic vials, and in light of all the recent faux-scarcity and price-gouging by Hospira resellers, I felt now might be a good time to compare other options. My goal was to find a brand that 1. packages their reconstitution solution in borosilicate glass instead of plastic, 2. has published testing results available, showing consistently high quality and purity, and 3. manufactures their products in Europe or the USA, rather than in China. Bonus points if they have a seemingly-good reputation online, and lots of positive reviews from fellow researchers, although obviously the latter can be faked or manipulated. The water I eventually selected is made by Parrox, and runs about $5.25 a vial when purchased in quantity with a discount code and free shipping. If you're in Chicago and would like to go in with me on a large-ish order, let me know! If you're not in Chicago, but have been on a similar hunt for Hospira alternatives, maybe check them out for yourself. Shelf life on the vials appears to be 3 years from date of manufacture.

  • Aavant Reta/Tirz drop
    T theexquisitehour

@Newenough It was probably a spoof account, but if you DO want the real Aavant's Maz or Survo, kits of 10 seem to still be available through the bot for $75 +$12ish shipping, which is pretty cheap for domestic

    T theexquisitehour

@Newenough That definitely sounds fishy! Aavant only has inventory about once a month, (which usually sells out in minutes) and you order it from a bot "assistant". There's really no fixed, published price list, other than updates on the announcement channel mentioning what to expect at the next drop. The only thing left in stock from the previous sale is Maz and Survo, and the legit link is: https://t.me/+ezvFMA6FZr42YWQx

Not a huge deal, but if you ordered Aavant's tirzepatide on Saturday, and saw it listed as batch 13, that number was probably incorrect. My order has now been updated to say batch 14, which is the newer, and hopefully less-pubey batch. I thought it was weird that I never saw any of the new stock for sale that night, only the previous one, and apparently it was just an inventory typo.

    Review

I bought a 10-pack of GLP-2 30mg from NextGen in mid-February 2026, along with a single vial of Reta. Pre-shipment processing took a day longer than I'm used to, but I think they were about to move into a new warehouse and the small delay was no big deal. My products arrived looking really slick and upscale, perhaps the nicest branding and packaging I've seen, but a few days into her first vial my research rat began to feel as if she was steadily reverting to a pre-Tirz state. Symptoms included (among others) frequent hunger pains, loud tummy gurgling, mental "food noise", low blood sugar and weakness between meals. I increased the dosage, in case it was a sudden plateau, but the product never felt like it was working. Simultaneously, my rat reported a wave of skin pains, torso leg and foot aches, tiredness, dizziness, and headaches. Allodynia can be an indicator of diabetes and this subject was pre-diabetic before starting her tirzepatide testing, but her condition had been largely controlled for the previous four months, and the symptoms never manifested this aggressively in the past. By the middle of the second vial, she was bloated and gaining weight, exhausted from lack of sleep, taking large frequent doses of nsaid pain killers, and barely able to get off the couch. Self-funded testing wasn't an option for financial reasons, but as soon as NextGen's product had been replaced by another brand, everything started returning to normal. There was a big stink in March about grey vendor GLP-2 that wasn't Tirz at all, with multiple vials testing positive for endotoxins, and considering the similar timing and the fact that most domestic peptide supply lines can be traced back up the chain to one of the same 5 big Chinese manufacturers, it seems possible this was just a bad batch. I finally reconstituted the single vial of NextGen Reta in June, and that one seemed fine, (in other words it also caused terrible side effects, but they were similar to reactions reported by numerous other Reta researchers)

  • Vendor Review of Certified Peptides - I Was One Of The Lucky Ones!
    T theexquisitehour

I bought GLP-2 30mg from Certified Peptides twice, when I was first venturing away from tele-health and prescription peps and didn't really know where to look for vendors. At that time they had a good rating on TrustPilot and a few other review platforms (plus maybe someone had recommended them on Reddit?) so it wasn't until later, after I'd already purchased, that I started to spot all the screencaps and anecdotal warnings about the owner's aggressive and antisocial behavior. I realize now that their prices are quite high, and even if he isn't a sex pest, Jason does seem to act like a dick whenever his buyers report a problem, so I doubt I'd shop there again, but my own ordering experience was delightfully calm and trouble-free. Shipping was prompt, communication was adequate and timely, vials were well-packaged, and the peptides performed perfectly both times

  • 🔥Giveaway🔥
    T theexquisitehour

Hi, quick question for @randy or any other mods who might know: After being a Peptide Critic member for several months, I finally stopped lurking, and started participating. Among my earliest efforts were a handful of posts in the Vendor Reviews and Orders section of the site. I rated my ordering experience with three domestic resellers, as well as a fourth vendor who ships domestically, but operates more in the gray zone. I later went back and added tags to each review, after realizing I'd initially overlooked this step. When I look at my member account stats on the page for the upcoming pen giveaways, I can see numerous "entries" acquired in real-time for things like upvoted posts, dashboard completion, etc. but the "post a review" count is still at zero. Is there just a lag when it comes to reviewing, or did I somehow submit mine incorrectly? I'm not actually that concerned with extra giveaway entries, since I've never even used a pen, it would just be nice to know if anything I wrote needs fixing 🙂

I started trying at 7:57 but the bot wouldn't let me in until exactly 8:00 EST. I never saw the Tesa listed at all, but still managed to load 4 other types of peps into my cart. Multiple items had already disappeared from inventory after the first 30 seconds. Unfortunately, invoice creation failed during checkout, which forced me to cancel and start over, and by 8:01 hardly anything was available, so when I finally did make my buy, it was just for some Tirzepatide 30mg, which appears to be from the troubled May batch. On a whim I went back later and added a kit of Survo. Here's hoping all my Pubetides arrive contaminant-free! Maz and Survo were still in stock as of early this morning, for $75 each plus $12 shipping
