Did reta fix my sleep?
-
Ive been an insomniac my entire life. Drug resistant insomnia. The only thing that ever worked was Trazadone. Ive been off trazadone for a month now and I think Reta is helping my sleep cycle. I get tired around 8pm sleep by 10/11 after hubby leaves for work and then sleep until 5 am. I tried DSIP and it did nothing for me. I was afraid of losing my sleep after stopping the trazadone. I'm so grateful to be sleeping almosy seemingly naturally.
I know some people experience sleep issues with Reta but aside from supplements I'm only taking reta right now.
Just my experience. -
Since you take Reta I guess you're trying to lose weight? Have you lost some weight? That fact alone can significantly affect your sleep, because of the changed body composition, hormonal changes, physical bodily changes, like sleep comfort, airways more open, etc.

This gets into one of those topics we cover from time to time: is it the peptides or is it the lifestyle changes? GLP-1’s definitely facilitate a lot of improvements, and sleep is a big one. I haven’t found that GHRH and many other peps improve my sleep, but my overall lifestyle changes have led to better sleep most of the time, okay more often than not.
Between the weight loss, reduce drinking, eating less garbage, and maybe keeping better hours, they lead to improved health, even if you aren’t explicitly chasing that outcome.
Most of my male friends over 60 have a fib, sleep apnea, a whole bunch of other health problems, and are 50+ lbs overweight. Oddly, or perhaps not, most of them have no interest in changing that. So props to you and everyone else trying to be more healthy.

For me GHRH absolutely helped with sleep. I had already lost all the weight. Made all of the lifestyle changes. My nightly sleep data changed once I started them with no other changes. It was isolated.

Losing 50 pounds is definitely the reason you're sleeping better...so in a roundabout way the reta absolutely is helping you sleep.

I suppose it can. The data from the trials shows huge reductions of apnea but the numbers are from the culmination of the 80 week study from what I'm seeing. The weight loss is where the increased sleep is coming from...I'd almost say across the board. Sure there might be a few N=1 scenarios here and there but reta isn't a sleep drug.
