Hey guys, I’ve watched Jeff’s videos a few times but I’m still a bit lost since I’m new to all this, so sorry in advance.

I’m planning to reconstitute 10mg of Reta with 1ml of bac water. Since it’s a small volume, does it make sense to use a 4mm filter, to minimize unnecessary loss?

I’m also not sure what vial size would be best for this, and I’ve been trying to understand the “flush” after filtering, like how much extra BAC water you’d typically use to push everything through, and whether adding that extra water into the vial after it’s already been reconstituted would affect the peptide in any way.

    Appreciate any help!

It's midnight and I'm going off memory here but I believe the hold back on that 4 mm especially if it's a Tisch is 10 units. You can actually just remove the syringe and push some air to flush. You won't get it all but it helps.

The rule for filter size is 1 ml or less 4 mm and up to 10 mL with 13 mm.

Realistically if you're not moving it into a cartridge, you've used this batch before and it passed sterility, endotoxin, etc. It's not entirely necessary to move it depending on your risk tolerance.

I just always filter because I go to pens. The last time I used an actual syringe for research was a month and a half ago. I couldn't tell you before that.

Also remember I'm just a dude on the internet.

So if filtering does not remove endotoxins why are we filtering?

Peptides are only as good as your Bac Water

@randy for the filtering needle, it’s okay to use a Dynarex Needle 25g 5/8?

According to AI, 0.22 micrometer filtration filters out down to very large viruses. Many toxins are smaller than that. It gets the bacteria.
