Opinion/experience on MOTS-C cycle/protocol
-
I read Jeff’s protocol (thanks Jeff), where Randy was testing a daily dose, titrating up to 1mg over a few weeks.
I’ve also seen protocols to inject a higher dose, 5mg every couple of days.
Which is best, small doses daily or large doses 2/3 times a week?
What are people’s opinions/experiences?
Thanks

I did 3.33mg three times per week, for a total of 10mg per week. I was happy with it.

I do mine pre-workout, going up 1mg a week until I get to 5mg. That is 4 or 5 days a week depending on the split I'm doing that month.
-
I started with 1 mg x3 days per week, pre-workout, increasing 1mg per week. Worked up to 5mg and loved it. Have since backed down to 4mg x 3 ad still works great, so will likely stick here for the 8 week cycle. I say find your sweet spot and stick with that. Everyone gets hung up on what is supposed to be the protocol, but I think everyone should just do what works for you.

I have done 3 6 to 8 week cycles over the last 8 months. I started with 1 mg a couple times a week for 6 weeks on the 1st cycle. The second cycle I did 2.5 mgs every other day for 8 weeks. And the 3rd cycle I did 5 mgs every other day for 8 weeks. I love MOTS-C! The cardio boost is amazing. It's like having a 3rd lung.

Some people don't take any breaks from it at all. If I could afford it, I'd stay on it all the time as well.

I'm currently doing 5mg M,W,F. Please though, for the love of God titrate up to that dose slowly. There is an unusual, but not rare, histamine reaction in some folks that can get as far as anaphylaxis. I've never had that issue, but the safest way is to start low and slow and work up and keep some liquid benadryl or an epipen close at hand just in case.

One self-declared expert claims that, as adapted from available mouse and rat trials, "for a 70kg person, the optimal range of MOTS-C dosing spans 28mg-85mg for enhancing athletic performance or addressing vascular calcification". He claims his clients routinely take over 20mg a day.

@Lady-Hamilton
I personally 'researched' MOTS-C from a couple of different vendors and tried low doses, various injection sites, etc - and every time I ended up with a super unpleasant histamine reaction (beyond a local injection site response) that seemed to get worse with progressive use. MOTS-C is just not for me I guess
From what I've read, this isn't necessarily unique to me, so my advice would be to start low to gauge your tolerance first. -
I am currently doing 1 mg/day. It definitely improves cardio and I have more energy, but I feel pretty good anyway and haven’t been pushing lately.

Found a video by vigorous steve suggesting 1-5mg motsc 3x week, 5mg methylen blue daily and 200-300mcg slu pp 32 1-3x per day. Its cheap to run and the rat using has been very happy with 1.5mg motsc 3x day, 5mg methylene blue daily and 200mcg slu 2x day the energy levels during a mild cut (-500 cal/day). It feels like not even being calorie deficient.
-
@derekg1 I love methylene blue, but for folks less familiar with it, do be aware that it can raise blood pressure, and is an MAO inhibitor (so if you are taking anything that messes with your serotonin, like an SSRI, beware). The blood pressure raise isn't terrible, but if you are already hypertensive, you may need to sit this one out

I have not used Mots-C yet, but a friend of mine has started about two weeks ago and had no issues. Then just yesterday she had a reaction and broke out in hives on 2mb. This particular pep seems to have a bunch of random issues. Makes me nervous to try it.

My fox has been researching with MOTS-c for about 5 weeks now. The little guy started at 200mcg and had no negative side effects for the first 2 weeks. But on the last dose of the second week started getting ISR that were pretty bad. I kept him at 200mcg past 2 weeks because of this and even reconstituted another vile (with Hospira both times) and the ISRs continued. We moved from a daily dose to a 3x per week dose, started taking Zyertec daily, and moved the injection site to the upper glute with no change. I’m considering ending my research with this pep. The benefits just aren’t out weighing the drawbacks for this particular fox.

I tolerate 3.33mg three times per week. But when I tried to do 1.5mg daily, I had a reaction. It was odd. Back to 333mg three times per week and all is good!

I do the 1.5 daily, I love it. I want to switch to a higher dose 3 times a week, but are worried that it won’t be as effective for me.
It has been such a game changer for me I don’t think I will ever stop taking it. I know I have to take a break from it here and there and I am dreading that. One thing, I have to take these now everyday.

I didn’t have to take them for the first couple of months taking MOTSC, but then I started feeling like I was running out of fuel. I started taking these with it and now I am good. I read some article on it. -
B Complex and TMG along with MOTS is a must for me! Otherwise I run into the same problem as @commander.
