Pen suggestion needed
-
I have a lot of needle related trauma from hospitals so while I was just on weekly or biweekly injections, my husband was doing them for me and I would just... not look. Since I started adding some daily peps I decided I needed to take matters into my own hands, literally. I had a couple of leftover small gift cards, so I grabbed a v2 pen from Amazon and a v3 from etsy. The v2 is mostly ok, but I get a fair bit of dripping when I pull it out and I'm not sure if that's normal.
The v3 though, if that's what I actually got - oof. I'm struggling hard with it. Tonight I managed to poke myself ok, but I froze up with the needle in, and panicked, and I have the worst bruise forming from whatever movement I did in that panic moment.
So my question is - the dripping from the v2, is that normal? Is it just a bad amazon version and I should order here? Is there another version I should try with my extreme needle issues? I feel like such a big baby about this but my poor bruise...

I'm brand new to the "V" pen arena so I can't speak directly from experience. But from what I've read, you should hold the pen steadily for about 10 seconds after the plunger is fully depressed before removing it from the injection site. Even the name brand big pharma injection pen instructions say to do this. The dripping has to do with air and pressure I believe.
Also, from what I understand the pens from Amazon and Etsy can be hit or miss. I ordered one from Amazon and got lucky I guess. I ordered a V4 and Xulin from the shop here and have been very impressed. Especially with the Xulin. The plunger is much smoother the the others I have.

Yes try holding the pen very steady, I found since they are heavier and larger than insulin needles my hand would shake or move, causing a more painful injection, I also found I was pushing down harder with the pen vs the syringe, hold it in place for a few seconds after you finish injecting to decrease dripping that drives me nuts!

@emkay I would order here and return those other pens; they are probably fakes. Watch @randy video's on the subject. I had a bad experience with an amazon pen V2 it was completely inaccurate and the plunger continued to exert pressure, so it leaked. Those leaks lead to bad reactions. Large red circles.
Select the shipping that is like $3 more otherwise it takes 10-14 days to get them.

@Stevepep thank you. I have been holding it in and still for several seconds so I suspect that it's just shoddy.

@Stevepep funny enough the v3 is what I have ghk-cu in and it's been fine, other than my panic attack. The drippy v2 is kpv. I'll try some from here, I just figured I'd use gift cards first to see if I could actually even administer doses for myself. It seems like I can as long as I never see the needle.
