I thought I would have a nice, easy, time taking out with an 18g, switching to a 31 to stick the old ratasaurus [though he complains I use a 12 gauge to do it].
Noooo, the rubber stopper can't reseal from a puncture that large.

Probably, like bac water, you really shouldn't get close to the fuzzy line BUT I CAN'T HELP IT! What is the largest gauge you use to withdraw?

I use 25g or smaller. I wouldn’t go larger than 23g, but that is just my gut. 18g is like body piercing thickness.

Back when I used pond water a 23g would pull air through prior poke sites, so I went to 27g.
With hospira I’ve only had it do it with 18g, so I use 23g and up.

Follows research backed science, not the gym bro’s.

              I use a 25g no issues

Just someone with a fridge full of research and a browser history that would concern my doctor.

I use 25g to deal with moving the liquids around. I have 1.5" needles to be able to reach the bottom of 2ml vials, and 1" for the rest of the cases. 27g is too thin for this, especially at 1.5".

I dont use luer locks for anything anymore. As far as guage 28 for anything oil based and 31 for anything water based.
