Funny thing, the month of May FELT like a huge stall watching the scale, so I titrated up after cutting calories by 100. Looking back at the trend line, you can't even see the stall. I need to remember that next time I feel a "stall".

That's awesome! I went through a stall as well but it was my caloric deficit being low. Even my gym output stalled. I diale down reta from 2mg to 1.5mg and added a few calories.

"This phenomenon is a starvation response (colloquially referred to as starvation mode or famine response). During severe calorie restriction, the body slows its metabolic rate and down-regulates non-resting energy expenditure to prolong survival and conserve both lean mass and body fat. Related physiological terms include: Adaptive Thermogenesis: The biological mechanism where the body's metabolic rate decreases to burn fewer calories in order to adapt to prolonged underfeeding.
Catabolysis: The severe, later-stage physiological process where the body breaks down both muscle and fat tissues for fuel when all other nutrient and energy sources are depleted."

Well done! Keeping the Reta at lower dose is awesome discipline, I find it difficult to talk myself into staying at 2mg as long as I see results. You're doing great.

@EXTROPIAN Same here. Even with Reta at 2mg my "stall" wasn;t a stall - just dropping .5lb/week instead of 2lb/week. I probably should have just trusted the protocol and soldiered on. As it happened, I went on a trip for a week, upped my calories 150-200 during that week. When I got back to discipline the weight started accelerating again.

@jamiegallien I used it at 2mg, then I tried 2mg 2 times a week, it was OK, but then I tried 3mg once a week for 2 weeks and it's too much for sure. My liver hurts. I tested my blood and the liver enzyme (ALT) is all-time low, the cholesterol is all-time low, and triglycerides are all-time low too. I guess at 3mg the glucagon part kicks in for me and draws fat out of the liver, and it looks like it's not much to draw anymore. I need to go back to 2mg.

What did you use for the chart?

I'm down from 306 to 239 since January and I'd love to overlay my peptide cycles, which I've tracked.

                              I am 5'0", 60 y/o female. I started Reta (1.5mg) on 4-21-2026. I was 150 lb. Today, 7-20-2026 I weigh exactly 125 lb. Just 3 lbs left to reach my goal.

I stalled at 129 lb for 4 frustrating weeks. I had stalled before, but not that long. Like Extropian said, dial down the Reta and increase the calories. Also, when I can't stand the sight of food, I find it it easier to choke down the protein if I pair it with a carb. That means hamburgers WITH buns, sandwiches, half of a bagel with cream cheese. Then go low carb again and boom! Listen to your body. If it's craving something, there's a reason. Eat it!

Now I'm trying to figure out the low maintenance dose I will likely stay on forever. Thoughts? 1 unit... which is barely a drop in a 100 unit syringe... lol?!

@EXTROPIAN If your pct of body fat is 25pct or more, it's pretty hard to get to a point where lowering calorie intake causes this. This is due to the fact that your body will start breaking down fat and using ketones, which break the blood-brain barrier and require far less energy. If you are in reasonably good shape, say under 20pct body fat, you don't have the fat reserves, and this can be an issue. The metabolic response is to slow down, and you could start losing muscle mass, but this is no overnight deal; it can take weeks or even longer. There are tons of studies on fasting on this subject. I have done 5-day fasts just drinking electrolytes and lost no muscle, continued to work out, and actually felt great. I am at 17pct body fat and was at 19pct at the time. I take 2mg of Reta a week, titrating down from 4. I am trying to say it's not one size fits all; many of these folks are obese and need to titrate up to lose weight, not titrate down. Telling people to eat more and titrate down may be the worst thing they could do, even if it works for you based on your body composition. (Not saying you are doing that, but people may infer that's what they should do)The last thing a person with over 30pct body fat should do is titrate down and increase calorie consumption.

One of the main advantages of Reta is just that fat burning, which creates the energy the body needs to sustain itself; it literally mobilizes fat for fat burning and actually increases energy. Resistance training is the key when taking Retatrutide.

@Stevepep You're correct for sure! Not everyone believes in their efficacy, but I drink Kenetik ketones; one shot per day. Dr Elizabeth Yurth, OG doc for longevity and peptides, likes it. She said if she could only take one supplement it would be the Kenetik shot of Ketones. Here's why these specifically.

Dr. Yurth strongly emphasizes mitochondrial efficiency and reducing systemic inflammation to help joints, muscles, and tissues heal at a cellular level. She publicly argues that most commercial ketone products use "ketone salts" or a mix of chemical isomers that the body cannot easily absorb. She advocates for products like Kenetik because they use pure, bioidentical D-beta-hydroxybutyrate (D-BHB), which she argues is the exact format the brain and muscles use to lower oxidative stress and accelerate physical recovery.
Ketone products (the right ones) can really assist in countering systemic inflammation. It has worked for me.

@jamiegallien You're on HRT, right? If not, I highly recommend it. It will do nothing but help in EVERY category almost. Not TOO much, just what you are lacking to get to optimal. No need to hang at low normal. I tested 7 years ago at 363. I think at the time the range of normal was 360-1500. They've since lowered the upper range to 750 or close to it. That's because (whatever reason) young men and men in general have lower testosterone levels than my generation. Crazy, it's probably from multiple factors: plastics, food additives, sitting in front of a game console/tv/laptop instead of playing outside, etc. But the main thing is this: There is NO reason to walk around at sub-optimal when you don't have to. I found a doc who told me the same and got me to 1500 where I have been since. I feel much better, have more energy, higher libido, better focus, less brain fog..." So many positives. Good Luck and keep up the good work.

Thoughts? 1 unit... which is barely a drop in a 100 unit syringe... lol?!

@investormogulllc If you end up using 1 unit, I highly recommend getting smaller syringes. For small doses, I use a .3 ml syringe with recognizable hash marks for each 1 unit. Don't do a dose that small on a 1 ml syringe; you really can't read that. Especially at 60. I'm 61, I know, Lol.
