What 3D printer should I order and lets put some files here
-
@Stevepep Getting the prints on the top are pretty straightforward and you can do it right in the slicer. If you're using Bambu Studio, click the part, go to the Text tool, then I typically select the option to "Add as a Modifier" then change the filament for that part so you get the color difference.

I did a bunch of containers for a Nexaph order for the freezer and labeled the tops, kinda just cuz.

@krisacero for your black cases above, where are you sourcing your hinge pins...or are they clip in somehow? Wanting to make sure I'm ready for when my gear shows up.

I made this one that has no hinges. Just put a lid on top.

@WisGal64 Are you looking for something in particular? I'd be happy to make/model/print something and ship it to you if you'd like

Yes! I'm looking for inserts for my apache 1800 case. But I think I found some on amazon that may work.
Thank you for the offer

@hunt_ak Yes, it calls officially for a m3x30 screw, however I use 3mmx30mm stainless pins like these:
https://a.co/d/0eJT2M96One note, the parametric box design has a tight fit as it's accounting for the threads in a screw and I hadn't designed ones explicitly for screws. You can use either an 1/8" bit and get close and use a tiny dot of super glue on the edges,or if you happen to have a 3mm bit or a #31 bit to ream the holes on the box itself, otherwise if you hamfist it like me with a pair of channel-locks you'll crack the part

@afkar7 I had tried this one before I modeled the one I did since I store it in a medicine cabinet and reaching from the side was causing me to jostle other things on the shelf. It's a solid model though!

I like the one you did but it isn’t supported on the A-1 mini. Thanks for sharing the info on those 30mm pins. I might have to try them now.

Do share. I have the Apache 1800 as well. I’m currently using the foam inserts it came with, just pulling out squares, but I’m quickly running out of space.

@afkar7 ahh rats, I forgot about the size limitations… I’m a bit spoiled with the H2C compared to some of the printers I’ve owned over the years

I should have just went with the A1 to start. I get bitter when I want to print something that doesn't work on the mini. lol

Well... the one I thought would work, I misread the description, it's for 2ml vials and saw a note that it was frequently returned.
I have a plan though.. lol going to pick up some EVA high density foam, make a 3 layer system, should fit 140 - 160 vials if I do it right

Printed this last night it’s perfect for all my pens.

Same! I'm waiting for the A2L to show up as refurbed on my local distributer's Shopee/Lazada page and I'm going to upgrade to that ASAP.
My A1mini was "refurbed" but I can't see how. Every thread was brand new. The only limitation was that the 1 year warranty can't be transferred onto whoever I sell/gift it to.

I asked AI, and you can add it later for the same price I pulled the trigger on the Bambu A1mini. I found this case to print. https://makerworld.com/en/models/2048540-snaplock-storage-box-3ml-vials?from=search#profileId-2210716

@Stevepep Great choice. That's a great printer for a beginner. Its what I would have recommended for a ~$200 budget.

Cool find if you have the Apache 1800. I’ll make a separate post, but while on the subject.
Stores 140 vials, near perfect fit.If you get 2 of these, take the insert out and stack two of them in the 1800. I’ll use the boxes for other supplies.

@snake-pepskin I like this idea! I will be abandoning the EVA foam idea, it ended up being cost-prohibitive.
