I posted this under the reviews so it may be a duplicate. Sorry, admins, you can please delete the other review as I did not realize it was going to prompt me to create an account. Guess I still don't know the ins and outs of this website yet.

I've purchase a few times from Southern Aminos. Ordering was easy, sales were good, and shipping was fast. However, this past order leaves me with some cause for concern. Outside of them using the dreaded Freedom and ILS labs, I noticed a discrepancy with my latest order.

They had 40mg vials of MOTS-c on sale for Labor day. Roughly $43 per vial. I've never tried MOTS-c so I figured I would give it try and ordered 3 vials. On their website they listed two active shipping batches. I knew it would be a gamble on which one I would get but I ordered anyway. One batch (I'll call it Batch 1) had a Freedom COA listed as an average fill of 37.29 (I know...low) and cap/crimp color of yellow/silver. The batch number is MS40826N. The second batch (Batch 2) had an ILS COA listed as an average fill of 42.17 with a cap/crimp of purple/silver. The batch number is MS400626N.

What I received was labeled as Batch 2 with the batch number of MS400626N but the cap/crimp was yellow/silver. So the batch number on the label matches one ILS COA but the cap/crimp description and picture match the Freedom COA.

Below are the links to the two COA's.

ILS - The ILS website doesn't show a picture of their vial but the one from Sothern's website (the second link) does.

I'm not sure where to go from here. I'm not too worried about the fill amount. I could just use 40mg as the average. Did they just put the wrong label on the wrong vial? How much cause for concern is this and should I contact them about the discrepancy? I will hold off using until I get some feedback from the community.

Vendors can do all sorts of shenanigans, intentional or unintentional, with inventory, labels and, yes, COA's as there is no 3rd party inspector with enforcement authority. Unless they turn their batch inventory over to a third party for segregation, testing and fulfillment, you are trusting that the vials you got came from the same batch they tested. Labels, QR codes and COA's don't prove that. I would just contact them and see if they will resolve to your liking.

I agree. It's definitely cause for concern. The question you have to answer is, "What do you want to do?" Refund? 2 vials of the newer batch where all reads as it should? This is quite a conundrum.

Proud to be on a gubmint watch list

Fyi, note what Southern Aminos states on product page:

QR Codes: QR codes printed on product vials are provided solely as a convenience to help customers access product information and Certificates of Analysis (COAs). QR codes should not be relied upon as the sole or definitive method of COA verification. Southern Aminos is not responsible for technical errors, scanning issues, broken or outdated links, device incompatibility, browser errors, third-party service interruptions, printing limitations, or any other technical issue that may affect the functionality or accuracy of a QR code. If a QR code does not scan properly, directs to an incorrect or unavailable page, or otherwise fails to function as expected, customers should use the official COA table located on the applicable product page to verify the current COA and batch information. The COA table on the product page should be considered the definitive source for COA verification.

My interpretation is that you got the freedom batch and the label is incorrect. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah they've been doing a couple of crazy things I bought mot c and reta use the same brand new bottle of bac water the reta was very cloudy The Mot c was clear they told me because I reconstituted them they cannot give me a refund how in the heck are you supposed to test the bottles if they're good if you don't reconstitute them? This does not make any sense at all I'll never do business with them again!!!

@Nuncles Look up one of my older post regarding AOD 9604 and Southern Aminos. Very similar story to yours. They are untrustworthy to me so they are on my DO NOT BUY list.

@eddiemejia Yep exactly how are you supposed to know without reconstituting them. Ridiculous. Screw them. So many other vendors to buy from. No point supporting bad vendors who won't backup their products.

Yep, it will probably be my last from them, which I why the title is "fall from grace". I'm not liking how the field of vendors keeps getting more and more narrow but I guess that's all part of the game. It's a shame because I got some good deals from them.

Just curious if you used the MOTS-C? I'm assuming you didn't use the Reta.

Didn't read the whole thread. Don't remember if it was you or someone else who also posted a bad experience before. I replied on that thread with my own disappointing experience with their COA and batch ID mismanagement.

Plus I read someone else's experience on another forum where Southern Aminos blocked the customer account for escalating order issues. Yeah they are mismanaged and yet high handed, a very dangerous combination in RUO space.

Thanks. I remember that post now. It was posted right before I joined. I remember skimming through it but it was before I understood the whole COA thing. I guess it didn't "click" when I found Southern.

I appreciate the tip. Considering the refresher I just got on this happening before with Southern Aminos, I'm thinking that it will probably just be a waste of time contacting them and too much headache. Right now I'm leaning towards taking my lick and avoiding them going further. Sometimes getting educated isn't free.

This makes me think of the post recently about group buys, and how there is limited/no chain of custody. I remember thinking why do "retail" sites like these get somewhat of a pass when it comes to the same concerns. Obviously SA is not making this stuff; they buy it from a vendor (probably grey like some of us) and relabel it, just as the article suggested these group buys do. Since NONE of this is regulated, inspected, processes verified...etc, I think this proves to me that we REALLY have to do our own due diligence as Nuncles did and double/triple check, and that regardless of which vendor you get it from, it all has the potential to have failure points. I hope they make it right and have a good answer about what happened and what they will do about it.

Thanks. I remember that post now. It was posted right before I joined. I remember skimming through it but it was before I understood the whole COA thing. I guess it didn't "click" when I found Southern.

@Nuncles That was my experience with Southern Aminos. After that I no longer order from them.

let us know how they handle this. Ive read enough I'm feeling red bannery....

Also if it were me (and i were interested in mots) I would trust the sample photo and cap color. Southern is sourcing from china. They dont lyo. they add the labels themselves.

@Randy the way they handled it with me was terrible. They did refund me but after arguing, not explaining the discrepancies, and then blocked me from their sight as a final middle finger.
