Telehealth Consumer Turned ResearcherHey guys! Figured I would share my story since it seems like a pretty common one around here. My rat was prescribed tirzepatide for a few months before looking into Telehealth providers and seeing that their prices out of pocket were much better than from a PCP even with insurance coverage. About a couple weeks after receiving their first kit of compounded tirzepatide I began a deep dive on Reddit forums and stumbled across a few posts mentioning lyophilized vials offered at a more affordable price. At this same time I was hearing more about retatrutide.
Initially I purchased from some shady website (terrible, I know) that looked "clean" but also had no reviews or other posts mentioning them on Reddit, and maybe like 10 reviews on Facebook purely mentioning shipping speed. I paid around $540 for a 5 pack of 5mg retatrutide and 1 vial of 30mg tirzepatide. Thankfully, I came across Peptide Critic's video on fake COA's and recognized that the COA from the website I previously purchased from was from a year ago and the vial caps/colors were completely different colors. I was able to return that with a full refund but had to pay for shipping myself. I guess that "tuition fee" wasn't so bad.
After multiple hours of forum lurking and hearing about the "unbanning" of certain peptides as a money grab I'm now waiting on a bulk order from EZP and Nexaph of tirz, reta, and cag that I ordered at 3am. Also purchased sterile vials for transfer and filters. Being an adult with expendable money is dangerous lol. Anyway, I appreciate this community and all of the valuable information here.
Currently tempted to purchase research pens even though I currently split dose and pin my rat only twice a week.. and I get most supplies for free working in healthcare.. Everyone's reviews of convenience are getting me.
Long story short I'm grateful to have found this community and appreciate Randy and everyone else's posts for information

Before I joined this community I didn't know these research materials could be so affordable. I have wasted so much money getting them by other means. Chose this source as recommended by many in the community and I'm thoroughly impressed with the shipping. I ordered a kit of reta, a kit of tirz, and a vial of bac water as I'm awaiting a bulk order from the H brand.

Testing Sterility of Reconstituted/Used Vials with Sterile WaterHey all,
I’ve been really interested in the differences between bacteriostatic water and sterile water use for reconstitution. I understand the general consensus is that bacteriostatic water is the best and safest bet and the majority of researchers will only use this for their studies. As I’m new to all of this I will probably do the same as well.
But I was really intrigued by what Janoshik had to say in his interview regarding no access to bac water in EU and sterile water being primary source/used for 28 days refrigerated. I know there are opinions on him lol but it intrigued me nonetheless.
My rat has relatively easy access to Hospira sterile water for injection and am wondering if it’s worth to reconstitute with and draw from once a week for a month and test whether or not anything will grow from it. It’s likely i could get a 5 day growth plate done but I’ll ask my rat’s lab friend to see if longer tests are possible.
I’m also curious of the results if I transfer that 28 day sample to a sterile vial for testing and have the original vial tested after 90 days continuing the same protocol once a week.
Obviously this has no say in the degradation of the peptide but at least what I’ve read in the forums, sterility is the largest concern for continued use?
Anybody have anything to add regarding how I should go about this? Should I try and see if I could also have another vial just sitting at room temp for the 28 day duration but still being drawn from once a week? Is it even worth it to reconstitute and just continue to draw from a regular SWI vial? I haven’t consulted my rat’s lab friend about it but after a recent conversation with the lab using the extra space in the incubator for testing items for personal intrigue they mentioned being willing to test anything.
I would appreciate anybody also with any knowledge in this field to add. I think it’s interesting how the word sterile is used as well in this field. I’m used to the term being very strict and everything having to be in a closed environment (under a hood, sterile gloves, masks being used, no hands “leaving” sterile field, etc etc). In placing intravenous access for patients that we use to draw blood from and push medication/fluids in, we typically don’t do it in a sterile fashion. Wiping with alcohol is not considered sterile, it’s considered clean. Any other HCP that also research I would love to chat about this. Not hating on anyone by the way! I understand I’m a noob in this field. Just appreciate anyone with any insight. Keeping an open mind

Thoughts on tirz/reta blends + dilution questionI'm curious to hear people's thoughts on reconstituting tirz + reta separately and filtering them both into one sterile vial. I personally am a little weary about the process especially wanting to take things slow with each compound / splitting doses throughout the week. But my mother's rat has stalled at 15mg tirz and hates the idea of multiple pokes throughout the week.
Would it be a bad idea to say use 0.5ml bac water to reconstitute each compound and filter the total 1ml into a sterile vial? Has anyone had any experience/notes to share about using both tirzepatide and retatrutide?
I feel more comfortable with my rat supplementing with cagrilintide while already on a tirzepatide protocol but I want to hear more about those who has researched the aforementioned blend / even just researching both with separate doses in a week.

Luer-Lock Dead Space When Combining Peptides@Finocchia don’t know how comfortable you are with this but to minimize it you can get draw up a small air bubble and flick the syringe with the needle facing down so the air is at the plunger of the syringe. Many pre drawn up meds in the hospital have air at the back for this exact situation. Just keep it small better to be safe than sorry, but it can minimize loss

Non-sketchy alternative to Hospira bac water (in glass vials)?Pfizer uses a custom Olefin vial that, unlike other polymers (or borosilicate glass) doesn't leach chemicals or change the PH of the water over time. PH is the most important factor for keeping reconstituted peptides stable.
