that's awesome. I'm sure you are feeling better. I've lost 59 pds, 6 more to my goal weight. it's a great feeling if you have battled your weight for years.

Thanks everybody for the outpouring of support! And for those of you that are on a similar path, keep going, you got this!! 💪🏼 Things I've noticed have been no more joint pain even after a heavy session at the gym. Inflammation is gone, brain fog is gone. I do find myself constantly adjusting the seat in my truck to find a new and comfortable position. I do feel as if I have body dysmorphia issues. Although I've heard it takes a bit for your brain to catch up and register the drastic changes. That part is weird. But I still have a ways to go yet.

I think that many of us - I will boldly assert most of us (not you, narcissists!) - have some degree of body dysmorphia, imposter syndrome, or just generally that voice in our head telling us we are a …. But I digress.

Throughout my life, no matter how fit I have been, I have thought I look fat, no matter how well everything was going, I thought I was a failure. I once had a convo with my best friend from childhood, as we sat in his 27th floor office, about how we often felt like our Dads were going to walk in and tell us play time was over and they needed to get back to work. 😉 At that time, he was managing 50+ people and I was flying to London to launch hedge funds. (Which did not, in fact, make me fabulously wealthy.)

Studies show that over 90% of successful people have imposter syndrome. I think some degree of these hobgoblins is healthy, as it can motivate you to improve yourself. But some people indulge it, or it gets out of control, and that is when bad things can happen. Also, people in the throes of these afflictions simply refuse to believe that other people also have it, and that they are not alone.

And yes, this is another rabbit hole I spend probably way too much of my time focusing on.

Anyway, you’re doing great! Keep up the good work. Have a Ho-Ho or an Oreo once in a while. 😉

Completely agree with this post. I have started to think about it this way. My hardware is set. It was set as a child. No upgrade coming. Inner dialogue is what it is. You're fat. No one loves you. You're not good enough.

Over the years through hard work in and out of the gym. Self help groups. Podcasts. I know this isnt true. My software has been upgraded. That voice is there. I hear it less often and its quieter.

I've lost almost 200 pounds. I'm skinnier and in better shape than most of my friends yet I still think Im fat. Sometimes I just laugh, say STFU and hit the gym.

Stay the course my friends. The future you will be grateful you did.

@mydogdaryl423 @researchcat these are great posts couldn’t agree more. I have never really been heavy but always chasing a chiseled body and now in my 50’s chasing longevity and feeling healthy. I am the most chiseled I have ever been. It’s feels great to be able to sit by the beach with my shirt off and feel good about myself I tell people peptides are what the internet was in the 80’s - 90’a, what AI is today so far but for your general well being. What @randy has provided us is extraordinary a place to talk about our successes and achieve our goals without suffering the pitfalls on our own. This is a learning persons game we are at the forefront and we all have a place now to share, compare and most importantly do this in a safe manner

@shaqdiesel I have goals now so that voice is just not productive anymore. I would never let someone speak to me the way my inner dialogue does. Just like other goals you get better with practice and consistency. Proof helps too. I always said I was lazy. I have proven this to not be true by how hard I work on all aspects of my life. So if I hear that I will actually say out loud that may have been true in the past but not now.
Be kind to yourself. It all sounds so corny as Im typing it but it has really worked to help me deal with the circus in my head.
