I am just starting to favor pens over syringes. I have one V2 that I bought here.

With the memorial day sales, do I jump up to a Xulin or giant leap to a Gansulin?

Do either offer a significantly better feel, execution, precision over the V2?

I think you should get both and add a V4 in there. I mean you did decide to ask that question in a thread called "I'm Hooked on Pens" lol. I ordered two more V4s today in silver and gold. Gansulin is great but I find myself using my manual pens more. Out of the manual pens offered here, Xulin feels most premium but I prefer the mechanism on the V4.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm going to pick up the Xulin and save the V4 for the Labor Day sale.

Yeah... so... I bought the Xulin and V4 last night from the lab supplies here on the site. I'm also trying a longer needle. I cant really feel the 4mm breaking the skin, so I'm gonna try a 8mm.

If you're going to use the hidden needle feature on the V4, an 8mm pen needle will protrude out about 1mm. I don't remember if the v2 is the same for 8mm's. I mostly use 6mm and 8mm but 4mm is good for difficult to inject areas. I'm currently dealing with a wrist injury and use 4mm to inject BPC into my hand.

AH! Right on, I didnt think about injecting in specific areas. Maybe I just leave the lower cap off until I get comfortable that the needle is doing what it needs to do.

For what it’s worth, the Gluco-Care Plus are my favorite pen needles to use. There are some others I want to try, like the Sensifine Plus, TonmiCare Plus, but I think I have enough for right now.

Do yalls Gansulins emit a few extra small drops of compound after the needle is pulled out but still screwed in? Both of my gansulins are doing that. Going to look for a way to calibrate it maybe.

@Splinter 100%. This happens every time with my Xulins, even if I bring the temp up and leave it in my subject for a full minute.

Yes!!! Same! Pens are a game changer. Thanks to Jeff & @randy for their tutorials on pen types & loading, I got into pens early on. Not sure the name of these, but I absolutely love them. Hard to find though. Just ordered 2 different types (v2& something else) will give them a try soon. One day I'll talk myself into the price of a gansulin pen. But for now, I'm good 😊

Don’t put the pen with the Test in the fridge. Also you mention auto pen, a v4 is not an auto pen, a gansulin/convi pen is an auto pen. You do not want an auto pen for Test. Use the v4 for test with 29ga needles…

@Commander thanks man - noted on all the above. Is it possible to get by with 31ga needles for the v4 for test given the extremely low dosage? Or probably need to commit to the 29ga?

@sam-savvy-sienko those pens are my favorite too! I have a V2 and two V3 but always load these pens over the others. When you push them the action just feels better.

I have bought over 50 pens so fare. My favorite is the Novo 4. I have about 25 of them now. I was able to get 6 in Blue! The rest of my Gsnsulin/Convi Pens, v1, v2, v4, Xulin, etc. I gae to my friends. The Novo just feels way more solid than the rest. I also tested them because everyone says they are “off by 8%”, none of mine have been. Maybe it is the cartridges I am using, I didn’t know. But none of mine have been off by more than 1 unit at 25 units.
But everyone has a favorite pen. My suggestion is buy at least 1 Autopen and 1 manual pen and see what you like best.

@Commander Novopen4 is the best . How do u get cartridges or do you clean and refill the penfill cartridges ? I tried the 3d printed option for the novo4 but the normal 3ml cartridge gets stuck due to the sleeker cartridge receiver?

Have you been able to successfully modify the Novo4?

If you use the stock cartridge holder you have to modify it. Or you could just get a NP adapter from Max Headroom and you don’t have to modify anything. Make sure you get the newest adapter from the link below.

I recently ordered the Xulin 3 and V4. Bought a "V2" on Amazon which turned out to be an V1. Seems nice enough though. I'm curious to compare the three. I may have an addiction before I even use one.

I am now using Max Headroom’s newest adapters for my Novo 4. They work perfectly, no spacers needed at all…

Yes Daro has Max’s adapters. I bought a couple from him… but waiting a couple more days for Max to open back up is not really a big deal… 2 days…

Please excuse my typos. Small Phone & Bad Eyes
