Fantastic article!! See, this is why I love this space. Just gets down to the brass tacks with a no, nonsense approach. I learn so much from this platform everyday.

  • One pen, one pen tip, multiple cartridges.
    mrjoshua44M mrjoshua44

So you’re using the same pen needle for all of your pins? You should be using a new pen needle for every injection. They are designed for single-use only. And if you’re researching that many with only one pen, you should grab a few more pens. There are so many things that could go wrong.

Here is why reusing or sharing a needle between different peptides is unsafe. Cross-Contamination: Injecting different peptides with the same needle can introduce traces of one peptide into the vial of another. This can cause the substances to chemically interact, degrade, and lose their potency or efficacy. Infection Risk: Once a needle pierces your skin, it is exposed to bacteria and is no longer sterile. Reusing it increases the risk of developing localized skin infections or abscesses. Blunting and Pain: Even after a single use, the microscopic tip of a needle can bend, barb, or become dull. Reusing a blunted needle damages the skin, increasing pain, bruising, and tissue irritation. Medication Spills: Leaving a needle attached to a pen between uses can cause the peptide solution to leak or crystallize, which leads to inaccurate dosing.IMG_0943.jpeg

  • I'm Hooked On Pens
    mrjoshua44M mrjoshua44

@drummnl Great question and the answer is yes. Always, always, always use an alcohol prep pad to wipe down the tip of the pin, making sure you get good coverage on the butyl rubber stopper. I will usually kinda roll up the alcohol pad and push it and rub it down in there. And always use a new pen needle, and never keep a needle screwed on to the pen. IMG_0675.jpeg

Had an extra Milwaukee Packout case so I thought I'd put it to good use, and got some of my pens put up in these stackable trays I found on Etsy. But hey, my fiancée has her scrapbooking, so I can have this, right? 🤷🏼

Got three vials of MOTS-C that's going in my V4 for some research. I swear, each and every time I sit down to reconstitute some peps for research, I find doing so very therapeutic.

  • A Sidekick for my Tirzepatide
    mrjoshua44M mrjoshua44

Decided to add some Survodutide to my protocol. Now I do have some Reta, but since Survodutide has significantly stronger glucagon receptor activity than Reta, thought I’d give it a try. Also, I just started back taking Tirzepatide after two months off due to a mass in my neck which turned out to be a benign tumor, and I’m taking the lowest dose of the compounded Tirzepatide. So I wanted a little boost to restart my weight loss.

Also, I’m pretty sure I’ve perfected getting every single air bubble out of the 3mL pen cartridge. I’m sure I spend way to my time with that, but I do have some OCD tendencies so we’ll blame that. IMG_0872.jpeg IMG_0871.jpeg IMG_0870.jpeg

I’m pretty much done ordering from Amazon. Even with Prime it still takes 5-7 for delivery where I live, so I’ve gone to ordering from online medical supply stores. Such as Medexsupply.com. I know what I’m getting and when it’s going to arrive.

  • If reta exists, why do you still research sema or tirz?
    mrjoshua44M mrjoshua44

@ResearchCat I’m right there with ya. Been on compounded Tirzepatide since December, was on 2.125 mg for three and a half months before I moved up to 4.25 mg, that I’m still on today. I’ve lost 61 lbs with Tirzepatide and like you, see no reason to switch to Reta.

  • SS-31 and GLP3-R Combined Issues -
    mrjoshua44M mrjoshua44

Normally, you don’t want to mix different peps with GLP-1s. Possible issues with pH levels and solubility. And that’s why when you mixed them it came out cloudy and clumpy. Best to pin them separately.
